It was disappointing! The view from around the castle was astounding (two stars for it) but the castle itself? Just walls, no information (only one small board at the entrance), no objects they maybe found there, nothing! You pay 10€ to see blank walls! For us even the second floor was closed and we could not have the view from the roof, awful! Some more informations; try to drive the street to the top and ignore the sign which says it’s not allowed to do that. If you are lucky, you can catch a parking place at the restaurant which also costs 5€, than you do not have to walk uphill and use the parking place downhill which also costs 5€. Be aware that the streets which lead to the castle are a mess, sometimes you will find nearly craters directly in the middle of the street, drive carefully. On our way there were two cars at the side of the streets which were broken down due to the bad roads. For us it was not worth the real long drive, but decide on your own!

It's a very imposing structure but ultimately our trip there was a little disappointing. It's a popular location so quite busy. There is no parking at the castle and the parking is quite a long distance away. They charge EUR5 to park in a field. There is a shuttle bus you can pay for but they run in a fairly adhoc way so we walked up. The walkway along the busy road is broken up and difficult as there were a lot of visitors. When we did get to the castle it was surrounded by fencing as Gucci (the fashion house) had used the castle for a fashion photo shoot. There were a lot of Gucci marketing types and security in black tee shirts being annoying and arrogant. The entrance fee was reduced ( presumably to compensate for the Gucci issue) but the rooms in the castle are all fairly similar and bare so there isnt a lot to see - you have to imagine the history. We did quite a detour to see this place and on balance it wasn't worth it

Premessa: il posto é bellissimo e merita di essere visitato assolutamente. Mi spiace solo mettere una stella....perché.... Pessima purtroppo la gestione e di conseguenza i costi rispetto a quanto offerto... PARCHEGGIO Comunciamo con i 5€ per il parcheggio (di chissà quale proprietà) NAVETTA Seguono i 2€ cadauno per la navetta parcheggio-castello (facoltativo.... Ma fare 15 Min a piedi alle 11 con quasi 40°... Lo prendi) BIGLIETTO Arrivi a prendere il biglietto... 10€ e chiedi se c'è un audioguida... Si ... 6€ in più. AUDIOGUIDA La prendi (6€) pensando come in tutti i musei che spieghi in maniera approfondita quello che ti circonda.... In pratica ti dice MENO di quello che é scritto nei cartelloni nelle stanze. Ovviamente non te lo rimborsano se te ne accorgi subito... INTERNI Il castello é vuoto, fin qui va bene, visti i saccheggi e abbandono che ha subito nel tempo... Ci sono giusto dei pannelli i descrittivi con poca roba. Se spiegassero meglio e con più entusiasmo forse la gente puoi immaginare i tempi che ha vissuto il castello. GUIDE ESTERNE All interno si possono incrociare delle guide che organizzano tour con gente in privato. Vengono anche a dirti che l audioguida non serve a nulla e che non spiega... Ma che con altri 5€ puoi seguirli... (Chissà se faceva una ricevuta) ESTERNO Il castello da fuori ovviamente fa la sua bella figura, imponente sulla collina tutto bianco. La fa da padrona anche tutta la spazzatura abbandonata tutta attorno... Bottiglie, vetri, plastiche, biglietti ... TOTALE PER 2 PERSONE 35€... Per un castello vuoto... RIFLESSIONI I vari enti non dovrebbero supervisionare? Dove sta il ministero della cultura, i beni culturali, la direzione musei puglia? Avessero messo pannelli solari al parcheggio, quindi con pullman elettrico a disposizione... Ma soprattutto 10€ di biglietto.... Cosa vi costa fare un audioguida decente da includere nler prezzo visto ch non dovete descrivere 100 opere d arte ma la storia di un castello.... In altri musei con 10 euro ti forniscono ti audioguida o presentano app o siti con cui ascoltare i contenuti....

We didn't do a guided tour. And I definitely missed information about the castle and the history. There is some of it inside in French, English and German, but I still had questions. From the outside it is an amazing castle. From the inside the castle is quite boring. It is always the same and they don't really give illustrations how it looked inside during its prime time. They play an artsy video without any information. I guess it showed stuff they found in and around the castle, but I'm not sure about it. In my opinion, it is too expensive. You also have to pay for the parking and if you want to use the bus you also need to pay a ticket for the ride. You can walk to the castle, though.
