Wow! Two of us found this winery kind of randomly - I work in a restaurant in the States that sells a Marchesini Bardolino and so I thought this was the same winery and popped by for a visit. Marchesini is an adorable vineyard, with a small amount of parking. Maybe enough for 5 cars? There was one very sweet woman there, who didn’t speak any English. My husband speaks a little Italian, and together we all got by okay! Anyway, we had no reservation. Not ideal communication. But it was the best experience! The woman was happy to see us, very patient with my husbands Italian. She let us try any wine we wanted! I think we tried at least 4 each. She didn’t even charge for the tasting! All the wines were great. There was a very dry, full frizzante that was great. The still rose, or Chiaretto Bardolino, was probably our favorite! And then the Bardolino Classico was great. Most are so perfect for summer. Many of the reds are perfect summer reds, a great feat. Because we have no room in suitcases, we could only buy 2 bottles (what we could drink in our last couple days here) - and she said only 10 euro total! Like, what?? And THEN she said if you buy 6 bottles - it’s only 22 euro! WHAT. I felt like we were practically stealing from them! Such great quality for the cheapest price.
I don’t know if this place offers any tours or anything. If you speak Italian, I would definitely ask! But if you just want to drive by, try some fantastic wines for a brief time, and go home with the best deal ever - I...
Read moreA mid-size wine producer unfortunately not so well known. We spontaneously looked by and were kindly treated to a quick tasting through their vines. All of them of high quality, organically produced. Most of them were to our liking so we packed a few crates. Its unfamiliarity leads to not being overpriced as other big vineyards along the Garda lake. Big cheers to the hosts,...
Read moreNice small winery! We arrived 5 minutes after the midday-closing time. Even though they had a lot of work with all the freshly harvested grapes, someone took some minutes to make a wine tasting possible. You can try different wines and we went for the Bardolino. Really good and affordable wine (about 5€...
