A genuinely hidden gem. The waterfall is in a waterworn slot in the mountain side. Only when you take the paths into cave-like canyon can you see the actual cascade. The paths that lead into the waterfall are flanked by beautifully planted borders and there are also orchids enjoying the humid location. If you don't want to get wet, take an umbrella or rain coat as there can be a lot of spray and water dripping from the rocks. Pick the time you visit carefully as it can be crowded - coach trips come here and weekends attract both locals and tourists. Obviously it's good if there has been rain in the days preceding a visit as this makes the fall even more impressive. There are plenty of tables and seating along the path leading to the waterfall and these make a great (free) location to picnic. There are steps from the carpark, but from then on, everything is accessed by sloping paths so the site is wheelchair accessible and suitable for less able people if they take it at a steady pace. The gift shop does sell small guides to the falls and these include some nice historical photos - also displayed on the walls just after the ticket kiosk. There is a snack bar selling drinks and sandwiches in the gift shop, but the Cafe on the square in the village is nicer. The range of gifts available is horrible, mostly imported and mostly unrelated to the area or the falls - anyone for a carved wooden giraffe? It obviously makes money... The €7 per person price tag is a little expensive, but the falls are interesting and lovely to see. Worth a visit if you're in the area or looking for a bit of a walk (along the side of the river fed by the falls) from...

At the entrance, there’s a small shop with souvenirs and various gadgets. You can also buy food there - mostly sandwiches and snacks. There’s also the option to buy a rain poncho for €3. Is it worth it? Yes and no. On a warm, sunny day, you’ll dry off in a few minutes, so it’s not a big deal. The poncho has a logo, so it could be a nice souvenir too – but you don’t really need it, you can easily manage without.
There are basically just two main zones – the lower and the upper. In the lower part, you’ll get slightly wet, while in the upper part you’ll get properly soaked. Between the zones, there are lots of plants and information boards available in four languages.
⚠️If you’re planning to go in with a camera or any equipment that could get damaged by a lot of water – I recommend protecting it well. Other reviews were accurate – you really can get drenched, like stepping into a shower or going through a heavy rainstorm.😅
At the very top, there’s also a picnic area with around 5 or 6 benches and umbrellas – a good spot to sit down and eat something. At the very bottom, near the ticket office, there are also some places to sit and have a snack. 🚾There are toilets available as well.
To be honest, we thought there would be a lot more walking and sightseeing involved, but you can easily go through everything in under an hour and a half. Still – I recommend it! It’s definitely worth seeing if you enjoy atmospheric and...
