Copy of e-mail sent to lift operators:
Dear team,
I recently returned from my ski holiday at your resort and wanted to express my disappointment with several aspects of my experience. Having skied in various Italian, Austrian, and French resorts, I found that your offering did not meet expectations—particularly given the high cost of the lift pass.
The pricing structure felt unfair and misleading. We were encouraged to purchase a more expensive pass, only to later realise that a lower-tier pass would have included a day elsewhere. At €433 for six days, the cost is excessive, especially considering the outdated infrastructure. The introduction of dynamic pricing makes purchasing a lift pass feel like a lottery, and the additional €10 surcharge for having a Sunday in our stay seems like an unjustified cash grab.
Additionally, the deposit refund policy is unnecessarily restrictive—while the deposit is taken via card, it is only refunded in cash, which is inconvenient for international visitors. It was also frustrating to find that Skiline.cc tracking was unavailable, and your own apps failed to provide a comparable service. The Campiglio app, in particular, was slow and unreliable.
Beyond pricing and technology, I was disappointed with the resort’s poor flow management. Congestion builds up in obvious bottlenecks, yet little effort is made to improve efficiency. Unlike other resorts where staff actively encourage full occupancy in gondolas and chairs, this was not the case here.
Given these issues, I cannot recommend your resort unless significant improvements are made. I hope you take this feedback into account to enhance the experience for future...
Read moreIn my opinion, quite a nice ski resort but there are many better ones in Italy.
Like some other people, I also cannot recommend Madonna di Campiglio for skiing. Compared to larger resorts in Austria and Switzerland (which are actually cheaper as of this year!), here in Italy you get catastrophically poor piste maintenance (they are not grooming the pistes after new snowfall at all!), resulting in virtually being unable to ski half the time unless you want to risk almost guaranteed injury. What they're doing here by not grooming the pistes is morally irresponsible, not to mention a complete rip-off. STAY AWAY from Madonna di Campiglio, go to Austria to enjoy professionally prepared ski pistes...
