Solomeo Festa Rinascimentale — Attraction in Corciano

There’s very little publicity for this elegant event which helps maintain its genteel ambience and civilized charm. Solomeo is home to Cucinelli style. This unspoilt event is an expression of Italian culture and its love of spectacle and dressing up set among the manicured restoration of paved terraces, cypresses, subtle lighting, and perfectly proportioned, perfectly rich cream buildings and alleyways. Cucinelli is known locally as a great supporter of local produce. The traditional menu of course has no surprises which would break with tradition. What makes it stand out from all the other sagras in the area is the quality ingredients, locally grown or made. The service is provided by local children and residents all wearing pastel shades of sackcloth, styled by one of Italy’s best known designers, accessorized with plaited fabric belts and silk flower garlands. Very very classy indeed. This festival is hosted during the hottest part of the summer when it is a delight to sit outside caressed by a warm breeze rather than a cashmere. You can come just for the main show then go to the terrace for desserts, or you can arrive earlier, dine al fresco on genuine fare, while being entertained by excellent street entertainers. Many children come every year just for the enchanting puppeteer. There’s a teenage disco area, a blinged out ancient sanctuary in the cool church, and craft demonstrations. The master of ceremonies with his poetic delivery draws you in, even if you don’t understand a word; it’s pure Shakespearean theatre worth sitting on the stone steps around the piazza for. Festa molto interessante, il posto è molto bello e tirato a lucido, quasi finito. L'organizzazione della serata è stata buona, gli spettacoli hanno intrattenuto bene il pubblico con giullari, maghi e mangiafuoco. Carino il pub nel giardino e molto comodo il parcheggio con servizio navetta. Note negative che giustificano appunto le 3 stelle è che si perde l'atmosfera paesana e ti senti più cliente che ospite per non parlare della maleducazione di alcuni residenti che per presunzione pensano di diritto a comportarsi in maniera fuori luogo, costringendomi alla...

Solomeo fa da splendida cornice alla festa rinascimentale che anima. ogni anno a fine luglio le vie le piazze gli angoli del paese che si trasforma in un teatro a cielo aperto con i suoi menestrelli i lavoranti della carta del telaio i battitori di monete i saltimbanchi i giullari i cantastorie il rimator cortese...
