Keber Edi — Attraction in Cormons

My wife, 2 friends from the US and I visited Edi Keber winery at the end of May, we were interested to find out more about wines from the Collio area and we heard that Edi Keber was one of the most interesting winemakers as the Keber family produces a single white wine, the Collio which is a blend of the three local grape variety :  Friulano, Ribolla and Malvasia and which expresses the uniqueness of their "terroir". We spent 2 wonderful hours in the company of Veronika, who told us about the 300 years of wine making history of the family, made us visit the estate, the cellars and taste fantastic vintages of Collio as well as an intriguing and luscious new Brda - an orange wine - made on the other side of the border in Slovenia. We also met with Kristian who explained to us his philosophy and his background. The Collio is a fantastic wine, with highly seductive aromas of fruits and flowers, a perfectly delicate balance between minerality and body, a complex and delightful finish. The wine tasting was generously paired with amazing cheeses from the nearby Fattoria Zoff. The Keber family also offers rooms to enjoy a pleasant stay in the region (which we didn't use this time) and to take the opportunity to dine at the nearby gastronomic restaurant L'Argine a Venco from Chef Antonia Klugmann. Posto incantevole, visitato durante il ponte del 2 giugno. Veronika e la sua famiglia sono molto ospitali e disponibili. Appartamento molto confortevole per due adulti e un bambino, ampio, con vista sui vigneti e ballatoio molto rilassante. Colazione con prodotti locali eccellenti, il miele veramente indimenticabile! (noi abbiamo optato per la parte dolce, mentre altri ospiti hanno gradito anche affettatti e formaggi), A disposizione acqua e vino freschi per potersi rilassare al rientro delle escursioni. Abbiamo ovviamente assaggiato i loro vini: che dire, il loro vino "Collio" è molto fresco e minerale e l'orange wine prodotto dal Kristian nella vicina vigna slovena di BRDA è stata una gran bella scoperta! Il Sig. Edi persona molto garbata che fa trasparire tutta la passione per le vigne e i loro prodotti. Ho fatto un solo errore: ho preso poche bottiglie di BRDA: dovrò rimediare!...

Nonostante pochissimo preavviso siamo state accolte da Veronica che ci ha mostrato la vigna e la cantina raccontandoci la storia della zona e dell'azienda. Nonostante la sua giornata impegnata (abbiamo avuto l'occasione di conoscere la sua dolcissima bambina) ci ha offerto la compagnia nonché degli assaggi dei loro ottimi vini. Grazie 💓!...
