Baracchi Winery — Attraction in Cortona

I visited this beautiful estate with my family in June. After paying for a tour and a five-course meal, my family placed several individual orders of wine to be shipped to us in the US. When my shipment didn't arrive I contacted Pier, the winery sales manager to see what the problem was. He admitted although my credit card had been charged, he never processed my order and now couldn't guarantee delivery by the time I requested. I asked him to cancel my order and refund my money. He complied (or so he said) and told me my refund would be processed within the week. Every time I contacted him after that, he had excuse after excuse to why my refund had not been processed. He even offered to send my original order of wine to me for free for the inconvenience. Neither the refund nor the wine was ever received and Barrachi stopped responding to my inquiries. Beware of these liars...

Love Love Love this vineyard and restaurant. We have visited Barrachi and Il Falconiere on multiple occasions and they always deliver an amazing experience. The grounds are beautiful. The wines are amazing and the food is outstanding.

If you are in a hurry, you should go somewhere since this should be relaxing experience. Sit on the terrasse and enjoy some bubbles while taking in the beautiful views of Cortona.

The Michelin star restaurant is absolutely amazing and well worth the cost. The service is impeccable and the food is delicious. We loved everything that was served and the wine pairing was perfect.

Definitely recommend to book in advance and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the tour.

Wonderful vineyard tour and tasting led by winery staff who provided an excellent overview of the vineyards and wine making operation. Visited the original cellar and the winery building. Wines range from unique sparklers made from Trebbiano and Sangiovese grapes to a not surprisingly wonderful DOC Smeriglio Sangiovese. The Syrah wines are fresh and tasty. Prices are very reasonable considering the fact that world class Brunello is made just a short car ride away. The winery is part of the Il Falconiere property that houses Michelin starred chef Silvia Baracchi whose family owns and operates the winery. A beautiful property with great people. Go!
