We booked the cottage near the swimming pool based on all excellent recommendations. Our stay was not what we had expected at all.|First, things that just didnt work. Wi-Fi never worked, tv did not show any stations nor was able to connect to your laptop (there were some rainy nights during our stay), the oven did not work. The shower warmed after 5min. |Second, we didn't feel like we were guests at all, more like a burden or cash cow to the hosts. A lot of small stuff were just simply missing. It's a small thing to plug in the refrigerator 2 hours before your guests arrive.. The couple in charge of the b&b was frequently fighting with each other, the choices at breakfast were very limited, all issues with wifi, tv and oven were "strange, it had never happened" and thus our fault and not fixed. The both of us got 1 towel for the entire week, the swimming pool was dirty and only cleaned after 2 days, the pingpong table was broken.. but the worst part was having a complete schoolclass of about 20 kids (4-5 yo) visit the location without telling us. On our last day there we were surrounded by screeming kids. We were there for a relaxing holiday and opted for a quiet Tuscan place..|This was not what we had expected for 120+ euros per night. The view however is spectacular, there's enough to do in the surrounding area and we really enjoyed our private...
Read moreThis is a small agriturismo whose owners, Beatrice and Bernardo, are clearly busy with other jobs. Hospitality was not their main priority. We even had to delay our check-in time to fit their schedule. We did have a good breakfast each morning and were able to get excellent egg dishes at our request. We also got good recommendations for local restaurants. For the most part, neither Beatrice or Bernardo were around much during our stay. ||We had a fairly spacious apartment, equipped with lots of dishware and pots. However, there were no basic condiments, such as salt and pepper, no dish soap in the dispenser, insufficient soap for the bathroom and barely enough toilet paper for our stay. The window screens were so poor that we had lots of mosquitoes and a scorpion come in. We had a verandah with a view of nearby Cortona and of the farm animals. Too bad that also meant we had flies and the aroma of manure! The bed was fine but the pillows were this and of poor quality.||The Wifi signal was very weak at best and frequently disappeared. The Internet connection was weak and subject to weather issues such as rain. ||All in all, we were disappointed by our stay. We had experienced much better accommodations at other agriturismos in Tuscany and Umbria. We would not...
Read moreThis was our 3rd visit to Tuscany and chose to stay in this location for a change. It didn't disappoint at all. This is one my 11 year old daughters favourite places and she has been lucky enough to visit everywhere from Disney World Florida, Canada, the Carribean to Tenerife. The apartment was a separate private building with a lovely terrace and views of Cortona. The owners Beatrice and Bernardo were very friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. Everything was immaculately clean. The pool was great with fantastic views with more than ample quality sun loungers and chairs. It was like having our own private pool. To correct some earlier reviews - yes we had some issues with wifi but at the end of the day you are in the middle of the countryside in Italy - Bernardo went out his way to resolve the issues and it worked fantastically from then on. There was more than sufficient facilities/equipment in the accommodation and the fridge/freezer was at a perfect temperature. The donkeys were gorgeous and friendly but located far enough from the accommodation that you would hardly know they were there. Yes there are mosquitoes but that is typical of hot countries in the summer and cannot be helped. Would...
