Amazing wines that tell stories of how the family of Foti have been producing wines over generations in the most traditional ways, going back to the roots, reexporting and implementing new technics. When you taste their wines you can feel the sunrise in the vineyards, breeze coming from the sea, big sister Etna keeping an eye on the grapes, scent and taste of unique volcanic soils, sweat of the people harvesting the grapes and making the wines. You just have to take a sip and the journey begins!
We had a wonderful experience visiting the winery, hosted by Simone Foti, son of the winemaker, it was a pure pleasure to listen to him explaining all the aspects of the area, their vineyards and winemaking techniques in a traditional way in Palmento. The spot where the winery is located is just magnificent! You get the view of the sea and Etna at the same time.
I have visited a number of wineries all over Europe and I Vigneri di Salvo Foti was definitely one of my favourites of all time!
Highly recommend to wine professionals and wine lovers, who enjoy beautiful wines and are curious to explore...

We opted for a tasting of 5 different wines, but unfortunately, the amount poured per glass was extremely minimal — the smallest we’ve encountered across all our winery visits. The five wine bottles looked as full at the end as they did at the start. We were honestly tempted to ask if we could help lighten the load!
Alongside the wine, we were served a small plate with slices of bread and olive oil. While tasty, the portions were also on the stingy side. When the kids asked for some more bread, we were told there was none left, which was disappointing.
Overall, while the place has charm and the wines are good, we left feeling a bit short-changed. We’d recommend checking out other wineries in the area that are a bit...
Read moreGreat visit to Salvo's sanctuary mid/late May 2021. The vineyard was absolutely beautiful. Very grateful for Salvo's hospitality. It's evident he takes great pride and responsibility in caring for the ecosystem. Beautiful cellar. Enjoyed a tasting while Etna loomed in the background. Was certain to purchase a few bottles to enjoy back in Palermo—all great for summer and super...
