Valle del Porco — Attraction in Palermo

This hike takes about an hour if you are fit, 1 - 2 hours if you are of average fitness or slightly below that. You have to climb ( use your hands a little bit ) for maybe 40% of the hike, but it is never actually very difficult. The trail is mostly clear, but definitely take your phone with you in case you get lost or are unsure of how far you've come. DO NOT use this trail if the ground is wet or it is getting dark or is already dark. The trail has no railings and if you slip you WILL fall and hurt yourself very bad. At times this trail is very dangerous, especially when the ground is slippery. In good weather and if you take it slow and watch your step, it is great fun and a good adventure. Im Rahmen der Tour 'Monte Pelligrino' aus dem Sizilien Reiseführer des Michael Müller Verlags gemachte Wanderung. Die Wanderung startete in unmittelbarer Nähe zum hektischen Palermo. Und schon nach wenigen Minuten hat man diese Hektik hinter sich gelassen. Der Aufstieg ist ein bisschen knackig (recht steil), gleichzeitig aber abwechslungsreich (felsig in üppiger Vegetation). Wanderschuhe und lange Hose wärmstens empfohlen! Nach einem längeren Weg durch einen Pinienwald findet man sich an der eigenwillig konstruierten Kirche wieder (halb in den Fels/Berg gebaut), die der heiligen Rosalinda gewidmet ist. Hier bin ich dann auch erst wieder den ersten Menschen über den Weg gelaufen . Im weiteren Verlauf ging's dann weiter zum Monte Pelligrino. Dieser Abschnitt ist noch verlassener, aber auch noch sehenswerter. Nachdem man sich durch viel wilde Macchia gekämpft hat, wird man mit atemberaubenden Aussichten belohnt. Und sieht nebenbei wie bescheiden hübsch Palermo von oben ist... Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert für ambitionierte Wander-/Trekkingfreunde. Ich empfehle die Zuhilfenahme von GPS, da mit Ausnahme des Aufstiegs im Valle Porco dee Weg nicht immer eindeutig ist (und kaum ausgetreten, da...
