The theater itself is not so impressive, given the fact that it is being used for cultural events and little of the original structure can be seen. The view from the theater towards the seaside is an advantage. The whole site is worth it. Tindari is a roman city of large scale. An entire insula (living quarters) was excavated and displayed. The theatre is nice, set in a green scenery (at least in November after a wet October) and the mosaic floors of the remains of the houses were impressive, but the place is in need of an update. Dalla maestosità del teatro greco e della Basilica alla bellezza dei mosaici e dei resti delle domus .Ma è evidente che la sua gestione non esalta le sue potenzialità e permette alle erbacce di nascondere muri e pavimenti e l'assenza di un percorso guidato fa girovagare le persone spaesate.Basterebbe molto poco per valorizzare e promuovere un sito ricco di reperti che farebbero la fortuna di qualsiasi museo europeo.Ma anche così è una meta assolutamente da visitare.
A wonderful place , steeped in history and culture. By the majesty of the greek theater and the Basilica to the beauty of the mosaics and the remains of the domus .But it is obvious that its management does not exalt its potential and allows weeds to cover walls and floors and the absence of tour indication make it confuse.Just a little bit of management should be enough to enhance and promote a site rich in artifacts that would make the fortune of any europeon museum.But, even so, it is a must-visit...
