We loved our stay of 3 nights and could easily hsve stayed longer. The apartment was decorated in a rustic style, thoughtfully designed and well organized. We enjoyed old photos of the church from the past. There were enough pots & dishes for cooking and a fridge that kept our drinks cold. The property is situated between the Basilica of Tindari and the Archeology Park so it was easy to walk to both. The grounds and gardens touched my heart and soul with it's timeless beauty. It was evocative of so many periods in history. The ancient, tall cedar trees, big Cacti, olive trees, and numerous nicely placed benches and chairs for admiring the beautiful views of distant Islands, the Capo Milazzo peninsula, and shoreline, plus unique views of the Basilica on one side and Roman ruins on the other. The Greek theater had a performance one night and it was well done. We walked down the mountain another night and ate a fixed price dinner of 20€ at Pane & Vino. The food was plentiful, of exceptional value including a bottle of vino. The hosts were kind enough to let us arrive early and leave our bags on the porch til the apartment was ready. They recommended Agavos restaurant as well. It was beautifully situated with good service and views. Food was outstanding and a decent price. I could have spent days sitting in various areas of the gardens, they were so peaceful. A mama cat and her 3 kittens nestled in the rock wall by the parking area kept us entertained. We also visited the Lakes of Marinello by a boat from Marinello 8€. Another day drove over to Mongiove beach and the grottoes. There was a free parking lot not too far from the beach entrance and then we had to walk towards the cliffs. You get in the water and swim past the first two large rocks off shore and eventually come to the grottoes. They are amazing. Bring a waterproof bag otherwise your phone will get wet going out there. Another evening we drove to Capo Milazzo and swam in the Piscina di Venere at sunset. That was extraordinary and unforgettable. We were appreciative of the helpful tips and kindness of the hosts. Contrary to previous bad reviews, we stayed 3 nights and were never bothered by nearby construction noise. There were electric sockets in the bathroom and kitchen. We cooked a few times with no trouble. There was a sponge and dish soap. And did I mention that the Madonna of Tindari is quite powerful! Two things to note: there is an extra charge of 12€ for linens and the ac unit is on a separate meter. We don't care for ac and were fine without it despite the summer heat. Also note that the drive up the mountain is narrow and steep, but not impossible.
