One of Our Favourite Ski Destinations

This has become one of our favourite - and perhaps unexpected - ski locations in Europe.

Fantastic gondola access from at least four different locations means that there are few if any major queues to get up the mountain - even during the holiday period when we visited this year.

The lifts are modern and efficient; there is a great variety of runs heading off in all directions from the mountain and the quality of equipment and maintenance of the slopes is excellent.

Some great restaurants at the summit of Kronplatz but others across the mountain as well. Fantastic 360 views from the summit and it can also be part of the Dolomiti Superski pass which means within an hour's drive you can be in places like Cortina or close to Val Gardena as well for different skiing days.

All in all rapidly becoming a favourite destination - and its modern lift infrastructure would be the envy of some of its more famous neighbours - for example Cortina that is full of antiquated and slow chairlifts.

In cima alla vetta del Plan De Corones si possono ammirare panorami mozzafiato. Potete sciare su piste meravigliose con impianti al top in Europa, molto belle le 2 piste nere Sylvester e la Hernegg ma anche le rosse Valdaora e Piculin. Malghe e ristoranti con tavoli all’interno e all’eterno ti offrono invitanti menu per ogni gusto, come per esempio il Ristorante AlpiNN Food Space o il rifugio Corones. Ci sono anche musei come il Lumen per la fotografia e quello dedicato a Reinhold Messner con reperti, foto e attrezzi usati per le grandi imprese sue e di altri alpinisti. Potete arrivarci con l’auto a valle, sia da Riscone (Brunico) che dalla Valdaora, oltre che da San Vigilio o Perca. Si può persino arrivare con il treno sempre in località Perca (servizio unico in Europa). Potete trovare anche molti maestri di sci o snowboard ⛷️ 🏂 presso le varie scuole di sci. Nella città di Brunico troverete molto ristoranti e negozi oltre a piste ciclo pedonali. Tutto questo è bello da vivere sia in inverno che in estate per ottime escursioni o gite in bicicletta. Dalle cime del Plan De Corones si può scendere in sella alla bicicletta assistiti da maestri.
