A culinary experience beyond compare at 2275m height
Perched high above the Puster Valley, AlpiNN is more than just a restaurant - it’s a place where the beauty of the Dolomites meets an extraordinary dining experience. The moment you step inside, the breathtaking panoramic views draw you in, creating a sense of serenity and connection to nature. The modern yet cozy design, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and natural materials, makes you feel like you’re floating above the mountains. And designed with natural materials, it blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, making you feel both grounded and elevated at the same time.
But what truly sets AlpiNN apart isn’t just the setting or the food- it’s also the people. From the very start, Valeria from the service team made us feel incredibly welcome. Her professionalism, warmth, and deep knowledge of of both the menu and wine selection plus non alcoholic pairing made our 5-course lunch experience even more enjoyable. Attentive yet never intrusive, she struck the perfect balance, ensuring that we felt both taken care of and completely at ease. It’s rare to find such a high level of service, and we deeply appreciated it.
Then came the absolute highlight of our day when Norbert Niederkofler himself stopped by, took the time to personally introduce himself and even sat down at our table for a chat. We were very grateful having the opportunity to meet the mastermind behind Cook the Mountain in such an intimate setting - he is such a personalty. His passion for sustainability, respect for local ingredients, and dedication to his craft were truly inspiring.
Of course, the food was nothing short of spectacular. Every dish told a story of the region, crafted with seasonal ingredients that reflected the beauty of the mountains around us. From delicate Spaghettone Quadro to a perfectly balanced tartare, each bite was a testament to the philosophy of sustainable fine dining.
AlpiNN isn’t just a restaurant - it’s an experience that lingers long after the last bite. If you ever find yourself in the Dolomites, do yourself a favor and make sure to visit. It’s a place where culinary excellence meets heartfelt hospitality, and we can’t...
Read moreWhat a joke! I sent them an email to give some feedback about my experience 3 weeks ago and they didn't even bother to acknowledge my email. I've travelled around the world and have seen amazing restaurants and this definitely is not one of them. If a restaurant can't provide good food then the decor, view and service are irrelevant.
My family and I attended lunch at 2:40pm as the restaurant was otherwise booked out earlier and we really wanted to eat there, especially given the long journey we made to get up there.
The welcome team and the staff on the floor were fantastic. I also have to complement the wine selection and the wine of the day. Great wine and great price.
I was unfortunately disappointed with the food. We had the risotto and pasta to start with. The risotto tasted great with a generous portion size. The pasta serving was small, likely less than 60grams of pasta and was undercooked (it was not al dente) however the sauce was interesting and enjoyable. As a second course we ordered the trout and steak. The trout was shockingly small for a main course and served with barely any sides. The quality of the cut of steak was good but it was overcooked (we asked for medium rare and it came medium well). It was a waste of a good steak and it felt like the kitchen had rushed it. I understand we were probably the 2nd or 3rd seating but would expect the same quality for every customer. I also found we were a little rushed because as soon as we finished the 1st course the 2nd course was served. To finish, no one came to ask if we enjoyed our meal.
Overall, the place was average with an incredible view but unfortunately the food we had on that day didn't match our...
