All you need to know about visiting this place:

How to get there and where to park. The easiest is to navigate to Lido Nettuno and find parking there. At the end of that road there is a big parking lot that costs 5 Eur for the entire day. I couldn't find the 3 eur parking that other reviews mentioned. Either it got more expensive or I couldn't find the cheap one.

If you park here, you can walk towards the beach and see a small booth where you pay the entrance fee.

You can also park the car on the road that leads to that area but pay attention if there are signs that forbid it.

Another way to reach the spot is to navigate to Paradise beach and park there. I don't know the price of the parking though.

From there you need to climb a bit and then get down to another beach,walk across it and then you should see a ticket booth.

How much it costs: 3 Eur per person and 1.5 for children. You can pay with cash or credit card and you need to save you receipt and show it 2 times along the way.

Walking there: After you pay you walk 1 minute on the beach along the rock until you reach the staircase, where the 1st check point is located. The person there will check your receipt.

Then you start a climb up the cliff. It's about 5 min up with stairs. The view as you go up gets better and better.

Once you reach the top it's downhill for 5 more minutes until you reach the 2nd checkpoint where you show your ticket.

Then you can finally get down to the small beach and see the beautiful Arc.

When can you visit and for how long? According to the signs the site is open between 8am and 8pm. Because it's a popular and small beach, you can only say up to 30 min, and sometimes even 20.

When you purchase the ticket they will tell you exactly how long, according to the water conditions and the amount of people.

We stayed there 20min as the waters were rough and you weren't allowed to go in the water - only stand or sit on the edges of the water (the currents are dangerous when it's a rough sea). When it's calm, you can definitely swim a bit but not close to the Arc.

What to bring there: Basically nothing 🙂 a small bag with a bottle of water, sunscreen if needed, camera/ cellphone etc. no food is allowed in order to keep the place clean.

You also can't bring blankets or big things like inflatable boats. You can't bring sun umbrellas as well.

Just bring yourself and walking sandals (best option) or shoes. Flip-flops are OK but it's a rocky path so it's up to you.

You can put your stuff anywhere at the beach and there are some spots with shade and some with sun, depending on the time of the day (at 11am you'll have both).

So is it worth it? I think so! 3 Eur entrance fee PP for 20-30 min, plus the parking cost can be annoying, but if you are in the area and feel.like having a nice break/easy adventure - I think it is.

You can spend the rest of the day or a few hours at the official nearby beach (Lido Nettuno) which has everything you need. That way the parking pays off!

Situato lungo la suggestiva Riviera dei Cedri, questo incredibile arco naturale è un vero e proprio gioiello nascosto.

La Calabria è nota per le sue coste mozzafiato, la sua ricca storia e la sua cucina deliziosa. Ma c'è un angolo di questa regione che spesso sfugge all'occhio dei turisti: l'Arco Magno. Questa meraviglia della natura, incastonata nella splendida Riviera dei Cedri, è pronta a lasciarvi senza fiato.

L'Arco Magno, è un capolavoro della natura

Situato nel comune di San Nicola Arcella, l'Arco Magno è un enorme arco naturale scavato nella roccia dalla forza erosiva del mare. Il risultato è una struttura imponente e maestosa, un vero e proprio monumento naturale.

Sotto l'arco, c'è una piccola spiaggia di ciottoli, raggiungibile solo via mare o attraverso un sentiero che scende dalla scogliera. Una volta arrivati, sarete accolti da un panorama mozzafiato: le acque cristalline del mare Tirreno, l'arco imponente che si staglia contro il cielo, le scogliere che circondano la baia. Un vero paradiso nascosto!

Ricordatevi di portare con voi scarpe da trekking per affrontare il sentiero, e non dimenticate la macchina fotografica per catturare la bellezza di questo luogo incredibile.

La Riviera dei Cedri, un tesoro costiero

L'Arco Magno si trova lungo la Riviera dei Cedri, un tratto di costa lungo circa 35 chilometri nel nord della Calabria. Questa zona deve il suo nome al cedro, un agrume che cresce abbondantemente in quest'area e che è utilizzato nella produzione di deliziosi prodotti locali.

La Riviera offre spiagge incontaminate, baie nascoste, paesini incantevoli e una natura rigogliosa. Un luogo ideale per coloro che amano il mare, le attività all'aperto e i panorami mozzafiato.

Durante la vostra visita, non perdete l'opportunità di assaggiare il famoso "Cedro Liqueur", un delizioso liquore prodotto con i cedri locali.

Oltre l'Arco: scoprire San Nicola Arcella

San Nicola Arcella, il comune che ospita l'Arco Magno, è un piccolo gioiello da scoprire. Questo paesino arroccato sulla collina offre una vista panoramica sul mare e sulle scogliere circostanti. Le sue strade strette e tortuose, le sue case colorate, la sua atmosfera tranquilla, ne fanno un luogo ideale per una passeggiata rilassante.

Non perdete l'opportunità di visitare la Torre Crawford, una torre di avvistamento del XVI secolo che prende il nome dallo scrittore americano Francis Marion Crawford, che qui visse alla fine del XIX secolo.

Premesso: il luogo in questione è un sito PROTETTO. Il comune ha circoscritto l’area, regolamentandone gli accessi e l’uso. A causa del pericolo di crollo e di frane provenienti dalle pareti rocciose, la balneazione è stata parzialmente interdetta, in particolare sotto l’arco. É possibile nei primi tre metri dalla spiaggia.

MODALITÀ DI ACCESSO L’ingresso è contingentato a un numero limitato di persone per volta e mediante ticket di 3 euro (da fare all’ingresso dell’area ARCO MAGNO). Il tempo massimo per poter stare nella spiaggetta è di 40 minuti (conteggio molto flessibile). Sul percorso e in diversi checkpoint, c’è il personale volontario che assiste e vigila sul rispetto delle regole da seguire. Non è possibile accedere alla spiaggetta o attraversare l’arco magno né a nuoto né con tavole o supporti simili. I vigilanti vi faranno entrare in spiaggia e tornare indietro a piedi.

TIPOLOGIA DEL PERCORSO Si fa presente che il percorso da fare per poter arrivare nell’area dell’arco non è semplicissimo. Munitevi di scarpe da trekking, abiti comodi e tanto fiato, il percorso si fa strada su un fianco di una montagna e il terreno in alcuni punti è veramente dissestato e con pendenze notevoli. Tutto il percorso si sviluppa in circa 15 minuti di camminata su percorso accidentato (vi è una scalinata comoda solo nei primi metri di salita del fianco). Il paesaggio è fantastico, una volta arrivati rimarrete stupefatti dalla bellezza della falesia e della spiaggetta dell’arco.

PARCHEGGIO I parcheggi comodi e vicini all’ingresso del sito, sono tutti privati e a pagamento. 10 euro il costo fisso, tutto il giorno o anche solo per 2 minuti. Se avete voglia di camminare e siete persone sportive, vi consiglio di lasciare l’auto a bordo strada su uno dei tornanti della montagna GRATIS. Pagherete solo con le vostre energie fisiche!
