Katari' beach lounge bar — Attraction in Sant'Agnello

For the ones following me and reading my reviews can see that I don’t shy away from putting my face out there as my reviews are very transparent and objective. This is one of those cases. Katarì beach lounge bar is a good place to spend a day in the sun. It’s not a pretentious place, nor from a price perspective nor from a service level point of view. It’s very in line with what you pay therefore we didn’t have high expectations and we were not disappointed at all. The service was good, I liked the shaded bar, and it was a relaxing place. We went for the VIP section at the very end of the pontoon but, there wasn’t much difference from the “general admission” area. I actually believe that the only difference was a bit of more space between sunbeds as I remember the sunbeds being exactly the same. We found a professional staff, clean and quiet. The only disappointment, but this is common in this part of Italy where there aren't necessarly sandy shores but just rocks, the access to the water is through a steel ladder and women would constantly be standing at the bottom of it, making the access difficult. I would have liked for the staff to somehow regulate the flow of people. It is annoying especially when you require few second to acclimatize to the cold water, having to expedite the dive because of so many people blocking the small platform.

Overall, a good experience. Probably more of a family-oriented place. For us who are willing to pay a premium to have a first-class experience…not really. Would we come...

This is our second visit to Piano di Sorrento , previously we have been going to another nearby beach club which is the complete opposite of Katari . While the restaurant staff were fantastic , the reception received by the club manager bordered on disdain( we have holidayed here previously for a month , the same as this stay ) . We have been to Katari now for the past 4 days and will finish our holiday by booking every day . From the moment you walk in you are welcomed like a member of the family , nothing is a bother for them it has really re enforced our love of Italian culture and dolce vita . Katari 2.0 Dovrebbe essere un upgrade del vecchio Katari Beach( che abbiamo frequentato per anni e ci piaceva) , appena sentito della riapertura del lido eravamo felici di tornarci pur sapendo che c’era qualche cambiamento, speravamo in un miglioramento ma quello che abbiamo trovato è stato solo un peggioramento, partiamo dai prezzi, una differenza abissale tra i residenti e non , parliamo di ben 15 euro di differenza! Tra l’altro , i prezzi sono segnati con una ulteriore differenza tra giorni feriali e festivi ma tranquilli che arrivati alla cassa faranno di testa propria! La prenotazione non è stata trovata , nonostante avessi fatto vedere la chiamata effettuata , vabbè, cercano di darci i nostri due lettini con ombrellone che avevamo prenotato il giorno precedente , senza scusarsi del disagio o della confusione ci assegnano in una postazione quasi all’uscita con un ombrellone “recuperato “ poiché erano terminati .. quindi non i classici ombrelloni grandi bianchi. I servizi igienici , nonostante fossimo arrivati all’apertura del lido li ho trovati sporchi …il legno della piattaforma in pessime condizioni con chiodi che fuoriescono sono un attentato alla sicurezza, non so come abbiano permesso l’apertura di questo lido in queste condizioni e con questi presupposti .. personale del bar e cassa che cambia maglia e si improvvisano bagnini in presenza di “controlli” Insomma ne abbiamo viste di cose in questo nuovo e fatiscente “Katari 2.0” , tutto tranne quello avremmo voluto trovare.
