I visited Benanti back in September while I was in Sicily for a friend’s wedding. The Benanti Wine Tour is an unforgettable experience for wine enthusiasts and those looking to immerse themselves in the beauty and flavors of the region. Known for its focus on personalized and intimate tours, Benanti stands out for offering more than just a wine-tasting session—it’s a journey into the heart of winemaking.

From the moment you’re greeted, the hospitality and passion of the team set the tone. The tour typically includes visits to boutique vineyards, where you get to meet the winemakers themselves and gain firsthand insights into their craft. The attention to detail in explaining the grape varieties, and winemaking processes elevates the experience beyond a standard tasting. It also has deep family history as the Benanti is one of four families who settled in this region and started making wine.

The wines are exceptional, showcasing a range of varietals and vintages that highlight the region’s unique characteristics. Whether you’re savoring a bold red or a crisp white, the tastings are paired thoughtfully, with local cheeses, charcuterie, and artisanal bread to enhance the flavors.

The personalized service and small group sizes ensure a relaxed and engaging experience. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or a curious beginner, the Benati Wine Tour caters to all levels of knowledge with warmth and enthusiasm.

For anyone visiting the area, this tour is a must. It’s not just about the wine—it’s about connecting with the land, the people, and the stories behind...

Our visit to Benanti was a highlight of our time in Sicily. From start to finish, the experience was warm, insightful, and memorable.

Our guide, originally from Canada (though her name unfortunately escapes me), was absolutely lovely. She was deeply knowledgeable—not just about Benanti’s wines, but the entire Etna region. Her passion for the area’s wine culture, history, and geology was contagious. We came away with a real understanding of what makes Etna wines, and Benanti in particular, so unique. Even within a small area, the wines vary dramatically due to differences in soil, elevation, and microclimate. It gave us a new appreciation for how expressive and distinctive these wines can be.

We also learned about the recent eruption of Mount Etna and how events like that shape the future of winemaking. It was fascinating to hear how volcanic activity affects the soil and presents both challenges and opportunities for growers and producers.

The wines themselves were excellent. Each tasting was paired with food that was a pleasant and thoughtful surprise. The dishes were clearly chosen to complement the wines and added an extra layer to the experience.

The winery grounds are peaceful and full of rustic charm, and the overall atmosphere was intimate and welcoming. Every staff member we met was kind, professional, and attentive.

This was a truly enjoyable and enriching experience. If you’re visiting Sicily, Benanti should definitely be...

If you have a chance to experience their tasting experience, don't miss it! It is totally worth it. They completely set the bar when it comes to hospitality, knowledge, sommeliers, food pairing and off course the wines.

This was the best and most complete wine tastings we have experienced untill so far. It was actually an 'EXPERIENCE'. To summarize; everything at Benanti is about top-end quality. From the looks & feel to their passionate and knowledgeable sommeliers and products they serve.

From the outside it is difficult to see that such an oasis is hidden behind the walls.

Upon arrival we were welcomed in a very pleasant way. The 'tour' was very informative, plenty of room to ask questions. The sommelier has very in-depth broad knowledge, elegance, good English and great passion about wine and food.

The wines are high quality, it always stays a matter of personal preference if you like them or not.

The extra element was the high quality foodpairing. The sommelier shares his knowledge on the served wines and gives the suggestions for the food pairing, that is actually served in multiple courses (size of amuses) and is something special and very complete.

Would highly recommended! The total experience has the wow factor.

Reservations are required and arranged very efficiently and quick, also top quality communication...

This was the first winery we visited while in Sicily, and we were not disappointed. I will say, this winery's tours are pricier than others. The food was fantastic, the presentation was great, and the wines were good, but I don't know if all that equates to double the cost other wineries charge. Regardless, we enjoyed our tour, they accommodated our vegetarian preferences, the estate was gorgeous, and our sommelier was very informative. We prefer semi-sweet reds, so we didn't end up buying any wines here, but we found most of the Mt. Etna wines we tried were generally drier. Although pricey, it was a great experience, it was just the two of us and we had so much fun, so would highly recommend! We visited around the third week of September.
