White River Calypso Rafting & Tubing — Attraction in Exchange

I was glad the rafts were not available because the tubes were much more fun! The tour guide, Ricky, was pleasant & made my group feel safe as we sang some tunes and drifted down the White River. The water is initially cold, but your body climatizes to the temperature. Water shoes are a plus, but not necessary. The river rocks are a bit sharp.

We made a stop on the river where Ricky did his thing! All 6 ladies enjoyed our 20 minute limestone leg massage.

We also had the opportunity to swing into the water from a rope hanging from a tall tree. This area of the water is a little deeper for jumping in. There was a hammock, plenty of tables and seating at the pitstop, too.

TIP: Stuff a little cash in your bathing suit 😉. After the rest stop, you can purchase fresh cut coconuts 🥥 from some vendors on the river.

All in all, the river was peaceful, quiet, and a great choice for those wanting something relaxing mixed a little excitement. If my Grandmother could do it, so could you!

For the non-swimmers: IT'S OKAY! The guide is a licensed lifeguard, you DO get your own life vest, and the water is only 4' deep. I went with 3 non-swimmers and they almost regretted opting out of this experience. They didn't even know this was something they needed on their bucket list & they ALL would go River tubing again!

Another Tip: Leave what you don't want to get wet in the vehicle. Transportation is offered to take you back up the hill once the tour is over. Please be responsible & tuck it away - out of sight.

Last Tip: If you are one to take photos, bring a waterproof bag for your cell phone/camera! I would normally have photos, but I didn't want to ruin my cell phone as I forgot my waterproof bag!

Put on your safety vest or request to just hold it. Walk through the jungle & immediately walk down to the river. The bamboo rafts await. The guys navigating the bamboo rafts help you on, and you take off for the most serene trip down a jamaican river.

As you sit and relax on this bamboo raft, if you look down, the river water is clear and flows under you through the bamboo raft. There is white water which is more rough, and calm water that just flows with the winds currents. You glide through the rainforst jungle views, and just soak in the sunshine. You experience the lovely tree shade, the sounds and sights of a river/jungle, and take in what Jamaica's island scene has to offer. It is 100% magical !!!!! A must do for young kids age 5 all the way to adults and grandparents. A treat for anyone who is wonderous, adventurous, and loves the beauty of this earth. So lovey, you are almost sad it comes to an end. I could be out on the river all day. At the end, there is a lovely craft shop sitting as you get off your bamboo rafts. Calypso Rafting is the BEST family and group water activities company on the north coast of Jamaica! They offer deep sea fishing, scuba diving, and white river rafting. You do not pay the mass premiums charged by the hotels and you get 5-star service. The Captain of the Misty boat (Marshall) has extensive knowledge of the sea and puts you on top of fish all the time. I have chartered the Misty six times and had awesome experiences.
