Leaving an honest review as there are several negative reviews that would have deterred me from going but having gone myself I am glad I went and experienced it. It is possible people could have a different experience depending on time of year and weather. We purchased the luminous lagoon excursion directly at our hotel and got picked up right on time. The drive for us was only a 20 min drive but could be longer for others depending on where your hotel is. When you arrive, you will sign waiver forms and be given rum or fruit punch.
We arrived last night to a very busy place. We were called to the boat to begin our excursion. A very packed boat with 40 people aboard where TUI say there should be a 20 person max!! There was no room between us. There was one very very drunk British woman who began to interrupt whilst the captain was trying to talk us through the safety briefing. When we arrived at the place to disembark the boat, we all jumped in. The advert for the excursion said we'd have 45 mins with a 3 min boat journey each way so we expected at least 30 mins in the water. The captain called us all in after 5 mins to go back. So we were all irritated especially having paid £162 for 4 adult tickets. Even though I have a 10 and 13 year old. Anyway, the drunk lady began to really kick off, she kicked and punched staff as she got back on board, she racially attacked staff and then my pregnant partner asked her to stop, to which she was verbally attacked by her. She then threw and smashed a glass bottle at her boyfriend and as we all climbed back aboard she had to be restrained as she was lashing out. My son was crying his eyes out and terrified. Finally, we arrived back at the dock and we asked to see a manager we met with someone who told us was called James Carvette, he would not listen to our complaints, he was drunk and smelt of alcohol and became physically aggresive toward my pregnant partner too and started pushing at her face as soon as we asked if he had a drink. He told us it was none of our business if he drinks whilst in charge of the hundreds of people on his boats. My pregnant partner was told that SHE was the one that antagonised the drunk woman to begin with and that his boats are not overcrowded and the excursion was not bad value for money based on the 5 mins out at sea.
It was a dangerous, over booked excursion where if (and when) something goes wrong, the protocols are not in place to deal with. It was disgusting and a disgrace that TUl charge so much for so little and in such an unsafe environment. We got a refund and an apology off TUI and they said this place have been told before about over booking the boats to unsafe numbers.
There is literally nowhere to move on the boats at this capacity, and when someone kicks off, it’s highly dangerous. They say kids are welcome but this place encourages guests to drink and drink prior to boarding a death trap.

Read moreAn amazing once in a lifetime experience. Jumping or climbing down from the boat into the water and watching it immediately glow is something words can not describe.
Upon arrival you are asked to sign a waiver which may as well include giving these guys the deed to your home. Don't panic about the waver, there are still lots of staff on the boat to help if needed. Once you've signed your life away grab a free run/fruit punch and walk down to the boating area and chillax. the boats DO NOT leave until it's dark. upon boarding take a seat near the back of the boat, that will give you some great views of the illumination when your sailing out. The guys on our boat were fantastic, i have reaf reviews saying they make some inappropriate jokes. The one joke they make is in good taste and made our whole boat chuckle. You get roughly 20 mins in the lake which is by far enough. For the swimmers the ground is covered in silt which is not the nicest sensation on your feet, but was safe when we did stand. Don't think your going to get great photos of your own camera/phone!!! The professional photographer will take some pics if you want and for around $30usd, which they airdrop to your Iphone. When back on dry land there's an outside shower if you fancy then join the photo queue (which doesn't move fast). Unfortunately our photo's were very dull but they wouldn't drop the price so we leave with just our memories. There's some great food on offer and a show, which entertained us. Not 5 star as overpriced tourist attraction but life long memories of natural phenomenon, which shpuld be a...
