The best features of the outdoor onsen is the many silhouettes you can see- Mt Fuji specifically. Another thing I liked was the clay mask, made available in the outdoor bath. There was a lying down bath but it is not recommended if the weather is super cold as it was so shallow (probably just a centimeter or two deep. There was only type of sauna- a wet one that automatically blew steam throughout the room. The blowers were on the ceiling.
The restaurant had very interesting items on it such as angler fish and motsu karaage. As we had lunch elsewhere, I went for the black natto and vanilla ice cream number... it was alright.
They had a number of lounges but I liked the one on the second floor next to the ladies bath as you could see the ocean and relax in a bean bag. The room is also used as a workout/dance studio on certain occasions.
There is a diaper changing crib in the women's changing room. Facetowels are available in the vending machine inside the changing room for around 150 yen and with the onsen's name and logo on it.
Free wifi and free charging of devices in the dining area.
No need to put 100 yen when depositing your shoes, nor for the changing room lockers.
The rooftop had hammocks and benches to relax on, and you could see Tokyo Rainbow Bridge, the Skytree, Tokyo Tower, Narita airport and most importantly Mount Fuji. Slippers were made available. There was also a staff that disinfected the benches regularly. The elevator fortunately went all the...
Read moreGreat view and nice rest areas…. Unfortunately it can be quite packed especially during the sunset period. It can be so crowded that you can’t even get inside the bath itself. Maybe it will be nicer if the management can implement entry limit….
Another thing is that they only have one small room for the ganban-yoku stone sauna (岩盤浴), probably can only hold around 15ish people. But they do have special mist sauna limited to 15 people every hour which is nice and relaxing. Tips : bring a bottle of water inside to hydrate yourself during the sauna.
The food at restaurant is a so-so at best, but do try their gin soda…. Quite nice especially if you do get the window table with ocean view. (I won’t recommend drinking too much alcohol before sauna or hot bath though)
Also do try their craft beer from the small cafe next to the ganban-yoku stone sauna entrance… it’s light and refreshing even for people who generally isn’t very fond of beer….
And last but not least, do not forget to visit their viewing deck on the third floor especially during nighttime. The sound of the waves with cool ocean breeze and twinkling city light is so relaxing.
Oh and for you locals who is thinking of going here, do bring your face towel and body towel since they don’t rent those things here. (You can buy them for several hundred yen...
Read moreDo you want to enjoy spa while looking at the sea? If yes, this is one of the places that you must visit. Wow, I was surprised and excited when I first saw the outside baths overlooking the sea.
I felt calm, peaceful, and being relaxed. This spa is very clean and being maintained well. I wish I could visit again in near future. Personally speaking, after finishing spa, I could feel that my face skin contains more moisture. It lasts more than two days.
Maybe, I saw a sign that a person who have tatoo is not allowed. Check the policy of this spa in advance. On arrival, you will have two keys. It is for your shoes and for your locker. Since the first mentioned key has tagging function, you can pay the bill for using the facilities, e.g., vending machine, foods, drinks, massage, of this spa. All you have to do is just tag it.
This spa doesn't provide towels. Inside of bathroom locker room there is a vending machine. You can buy amenities there. After finishing spa, you pay the bill by using kiosks. If you are having difficulty, the staff will help you.
For your information, it operates a regular round-trip shuttle bus nearby Kaihimmakuhari Station. Considering that its accessbility is not good, I requested the staff to bring a taxi. The kind staff helped me. I was satisfied...
