Absolutely amazing stadium, on the waters edge and catching a sunset game is bliss. I took the family here when on holidays in Japan to catch the Chiba City Lotte Marines play.
This place has a really great buzz, easy to get about, I don’t speak any Japanese but getting in was a breeze, really good merchandise store and plenty of food trucks and food inside.
Some tips, Definitely take a hat and sunnies if your catching an afternoon game.
For tourists, you should follow the locals and be prepared wear masks as precautionary courtesy.
The stadium is about a 15 minute (easy) walk from Kaihimmakuhari Station however there are a constant stream of shuttle coaches that take you from the station exit direct to the stadium entrance, cost is approx 100 yen ($1) per adult, 50 yen per child. The bus takes about 3 minutes, might be ideal if you have small kids however my 7yo daughter was fine with the walk.
There is a massive factory outlet / shopping complex outside the station with ALL the big brands, so if your keen to avoid the rush on the trains, get there a couple of hours before the match, do some shopping and there are plenty of restaurants / food courts also for...
Read moreJapanese baseball!!! Check out the Chiba Lotte Marines at their home stadium. Night games are best for beating the heat as they tend to get a (relatively) cool breeze coming in off Tokyo Bay. The beer and food aren't cheap, but are fairly decent. You can bring in drinks (non-alcoholic) and food from your kitchen or the stalls located outside of the stadium to mitigate expenses. There are usually some fireworks (yes, real ones) during the game, which are a pretty nice addition, and of course the unique atmosphere of Japanese baseball is always a kick. Get tickets on the right side of the stadium if you want to support the home team. And if you do, be sure to make lots of noise every time they score a run, as it is guaranteed to make you popular with the locals. Who knows? You may even get some free food if you put enough...
Read moreAs you know well, ZOZO MARINE STADIUM is home of Chiba Lotte Marines. It is established in 1990 with 29,916 seats. Personally speaking, it is the first baseball stadium that I visited in Japan. I enjoyed a NPB game, pre-season, Lotte Marines vs. Softbank Hawks dated March 8, 2024.
There are several food trucks around starting two hours before the game starts. You can buy something to eat. In front of each entrance gate, the staff will do security check, i.e., bag inspection, and QR code check.
Before the game starts, people stand up and sing their national anthem with respect.
For your information, there is a bus stop for people. I paid JPY 170 to Kaihimmakuhari...
