Mishakaike Pond — Attraction in Chino

We walked to this pond as an extension of our hike through the Yokoya Gorge (we started from the Otome Falls and finished at the Oshidori Falls - which are nearby and also worth a visit). You can also go by car, but I wouldn't recommend it. The day we were there (3rd week of October), it was quite crowded with bus loads of tourists, and because the parking lots are quite small, the cars were backed up down the road while people waited for parking spots. ・Mishaka Pond Mishaka Pond is 1,500 meters above sea level and surrounded by a larch forest in the mountain. It was selected as one of the "100 best reservoirs" in 2010. It is also famous as the motif of "Midori Hibiku" by Higashiyama Kaii, but it was originally an agricultural reservoir and is still used in the Sasahara area at the foot of the mountain. ⁡

・Recommended season Fresh green in spring, deep green in summer, golden color in autumn and the world of snow/ice in winter. This is a place worth visiting in each season. ⁡ ⁡ ・Note Since it is an agricultural facility, The inside of embankment is a restricted area. Please cooperate for environmental protection. ⁡
