great place for a volcano hike! it takes roughly 4-5h to circle the two closest craters. for people arriving by train/bus: take a train to ‚kirishima-jingu’ where a bus runs to ‚maruo onsen‘ with a connecting bus up to the ebino eco visitor center (thrice daily). i‘ve attached the schedule for the two bus rides back (1pm and 4pm).

24/11/15平日にここに観光にきました。駐車場代として500円車を停めるのに必要ですが、このミュージアムセンターと周辺ハイキング、お土産屋さんの観光巡り、足湯に入ったり、ここでご飯を食べたり、休憩のカフェをしたりといろいろ楽しめるので、駐車場代500円は最初嫌だと思いますが、後からそのように思わなくなると思います。さて、駐車場に停めてこのエコミュージアムセンターに行くと、建物はとても綺麗で、この霧島のことがいろいろよくわかります。私はこのようなミュージアムセンターが好きなので、1時間位はここで勉強さしてもらいました。平日ともあり、このミュージアムセンターにはお客さんがほとんどいませんでしたので、自分1人かなりゆっくり見ることができました。周辺探索山登りの後に来ても良いと思います。疲れた体をここで休憩するのもいいですね。とても面白いエコミュージアムセンターなんて、ぜひ皆さん行ってくださいませ。楽しく、勉強できますよー。

韓国岳登山口などには、こちらの駐車場利用が便利です。500円ですが、登山道やトイレの整備には費用がかかりますので、利用者が負担するのは当たり前のこと。 悪天候の際は、大浪池へのコースや、池巡りコースなど、他の選択肢もあります。 周辺の5つの登山ルートに関して、説明板がそれぞれあり、地図がついたチラシも無料でもらえます。非常に役に立つので、ぜひ登山前に立ち寄ることをお勧めします。 次に登る予定の分ももらっておけば次回からは立ち寄らなくて済みますし。 ただ、天候、風の予報は大事なので、入口に置いてある立て看板の情報は見るようにしています。これは外からでも見えます。 あと、登山計画書の提出はコチラでもできるので、便利です。 トイレもありますが、洋式はコロナのせいか？使用禁止になっていました。

It's 500 yen to park but entering the museum is free. The museum also has commemorative stamps, merch, and the latest information for hiking. We went when the volanco alert was at 3 so it wasn't busy but also a lot of trails were closed...
