If you enjoy hiking and ending it with an onsen (hot spring) soak, this place is for you. It can be quite challenging to do a day trip as you'd need to pretty much take the first/second transport in and the last bus out is pretty early. Do check with multiple sources on the time table just in case.

But as we arrived, the very nice parking lot attendant told us to come back to him after we parked and he had an English map of the park prepared for us with some hand written tips about the place and where the trail was blocked because of an recent eruption.
