Western Lake, sometimes Saiko, is one of the Fuji Five Lakes and located in the town of Fujikawaguchiko in southern Yamanashi Prefecture near Mount Fuji, Japan. It is the fourth of the Fuji Five Lakes in terms of surface area, and second deepest, with a maximum water depth of 71.1 metres.

Such a beautiful, peaceful lake with one of the best views of Mt. Fuji around. There is a small spot for parking and a great little peninsula for taking photos, like the one included. There are also many spots around the lake for fishing. The lake is much smaller than Lake Kawaguchiko but being that it is much less crowded, I found it to be a more peaceful and memorable experience than Lake Kawaguchiko. I would highly recommend coming here for anyone that is in the area would like an awesome view...
