Lovely location for a nice, long walk along the bay area. Cross the famous bridge to reach the shrine on the island. It’s also a popular destination for clam digging during the spring (see attached photo). It’s a nice island to visit on the weekend for those who live around the region.

2018.08訪問。カモメはいませんでした。日本で唯一、橋をまたぐ鳥居をもつ神社です！竹島に渡る手前に300円の駐車場があります。新しそうなお手洗いも完備されてます。少し離れたところに竹島水族館があり、そこから歩くこともできます。水族館の駐車場は無料。水族館に向かって左手奥方向に竹島があります。土産物屋のほか、生パスタなどを置くカフェ、みたらし、五平餅、焼き鳥、かき氷など売っている店や自動販売機が並んでいます。自販機の飲み物は500mlペットボトルで100円のものもあり、観光地としてはかなり良心的です。飲食物はこちらで購入することをおすすめします。竹島には食物の販売がありません。神社のあたりの休憩所にドリンクの自動販売機はいくつかあります。お手洗いもありました。竹島への橋を渡る前、手前右手に神社があります。こちらにも必ずお参りしましょう。その後、竹島には５つ神社があります。全てお参りすることでご利益がありそうです。一番大きな神社のお賽銭箱の左手に100円で授与できる金運守りみたいなものが置いてあります。なかに5円が入っているようです。お参りののち、右手周りに島を歩いて一周できます。遊歩道となっているため、高いヒールなどでなければサンダルでも歩けますが、岩場も少なくないので動きやすいスニーカーなどを履いて行くほうが好ましいでしょう。遠くにカヌーやジェットスキーを楽しむ人々を眺めることもできます。砂浜はあまりありませんが岩場から少し海に足つけることもできます。子供たちが遊んでいました。無料でこれだけ景色や雰囲気を楽しめるのは想像以上でした。混みすぎていないため、余計に過ごしやすく満足度も高いです。名古屋からも小一時間でいけます。近場に行った際にはぜひ立ち寄ってみてください。

Why is this called "Take Island" in Google Maps? I know that translated, it means "bamboo island" but calling Takeshima "Take Island" is just flat wrong. I can't find anyplace to suggest an edit on this, either.

"Takeshima", NOT "Take Island". FIX THIS, google maps!!
