The peaceful surroundings and the sound of the water fountains made it a great place to meditate and reflect. I also appreciated the opportunity to make offerings and perform traditional rituals.

The shrine grounds were also beautiful, with carefully tended gardens and walking paths that offered a chance to take in the natural beauty of the area. The main gate and the torii (Japanese traditional gate) were also very beautiful and...

Walk through the tree and moss covered path to the shrine while listening to bush warblers singing along the way. When we went there, the entire.Hakobe was draped in dense fog, adding to the already mystical and ethereal atmosphere of the shrine. Because of the rain and fog, it was not crowded- just us and respectful group of...

A quiet, interesting and picturesque shrine by the Lake Ashi. You'd be able to take some good photos with the pirate ships go past "inside" the shrine. We had a good 20 mins walk from the pier to the entrance of the shrine.
