Pretty, and few people on a weekday at dusk. In <40 min you can walk (maybe with the occasional jogging) from Togendai down to the entrance of the park that contains this torii gate and the Kuzuryu Shrine (九頭龍神社). Get there before the entrance closes at 4:30pm! Pay the small admission, then you have half an hour to enjoy the calmness of nature before heading back as it gets too dark and still catch a T bus back to hotels in the Sengokuhara area or beyond. ⛩️ p.s. Make sure this is the place you really wanted to see, NOT the big Hakone Shrine (箱根神社) at the south end of the lake! There are a few misuploaded photos here; you can't walk out to this simpler gate in the lake.

A beautiful place, mesmerizing with its power and serenity. We came on a weekday — there were no lines, very few people, and the ticket seller at the entrance was very polite and kind. I really liked it ❤️
