I am from Denmark and have recently visited the H.C. Andersen Museum in Odense. If somebody told me this museum was the inspiration for the new parts of the museum, which are praised highly, I wouldn't think twice about it.
The entrance to the park in which the museum is, is quite cute and welcoming. But visiting, for at least, on a week day with not too many visitors, was absolutely magical.
The forest, the garden, then the walkway, and the main building were so fantastic, the attention to detail was really pleasing. Many senses were stimulated, all at once.
When I went inside ''Kenji's School'' I didn't have high expectations. But any doubts I might have had were immediately extinguisher as I went from the forst room after the entrance to the second. The tradition was magical. From a bright welcome to a dark mysterious, yet kind nightsky, envolping my entire existence.

However, I wanted to use the translator on my phone and couldn't since there was no internet connection. Overall, I would recommend visiting if you're stopping through Hanamaki.
