当家に1859年の普請中諸払帳が残されており木部の風食などからみて、江戸末期の建築と推定されるそうです。また、全体的にみて後世の改造も少なく豪農の建築を知るうえで貴重な建物であると言えます。

国道からいつも見えている家なのに、 どうやって辿り着くか分かりにくい。 室内は大変立派な木造建築です。 掃除もきちんとされています。 常駐の職員さんが張り切って お庭の説明をしてくれました。
