Approximately 5 minutes' drive from the Hitachi-Chuo IC on the Joban Expressway. 💴 - Admission Fee: * Adult - (520 yen). * Children - (100 yen). * Over 65 - (Free). * 3 Years old or younger - (Free). 🕒 - Hours: ´March to October - [9:00-17:00] | (Last entry 16:15). ´November to February - [9:00-16:15] (Last entry 15:30). 🌹 - Hitachi Kamine Zoological Garden: Hitachi Kamine Park is at the base of Mt. Kurakake and overlooks the city of Hitachi and the Pacific Ocean. The 150,000 square meter park is famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot and also features two amusement parks and a zoo. A decent zoo with a good variety of animals. Kid and stroller friendly (but a good workout going up and down the slopes). It's close to the ocean so there's a constant breeze. During winter it can feel colder than the forecast suggests, so pack accordingly. There are 2 places to eat. One at the entrance (Elephant Cafe). They serve burgers and fries. The other is about halfway (Hippo Cafe). They serve curry rice, ramen, and hot chips. These are also where the toilets are located so I suggest making sure you go when you pass. There's lots of space for a picnic. I recommend bringing some food from outside.

Pretty awesome place to pay a visit with family! Cool playground for kids. The toilet here is really clean and family friendly, and there are lots of small animals here. However, it is really sad that the lion and tiger are not showing when we visit it. There is a 遊園地 nearby, and it is free for kids under 3 year’s old. 最高ですね😊👍GW中でしたが激混みではないですし、良かったです👍外国人は少なめです。 アソビューを前日までに利用してチケット購入すれば大人470円、子供90円で利用できます。 ただ、元々安いので定価でも気になりません🤣 前に行ったのは４年くらい前だったので久しぶりに来たら、奥の方の施設が新しくなってて綺麗でした✨ 餌やりは、「ヤギと羊」が1箇所。餌代１個100円。 同じ場所でモルモットと触れ合えますが土曜日はやってませんでした。詳しくはサイトを見てください。 その他には、先に進むと鹿にも１個100円で餌があげられます。 草を固形にしたペレットを草食動物にはあげるそうで、それと一緒に人参も入ってます。 ちなみに飼育員さんに話を聞きながら子供が自分のお小遣いから100円を出すと、子供の人数を見てくれて、ニンジンを一本おまけしてくれました♪ ありがとうございます😊 ただ、これを見ても例外ですから皆さん期待しないでくださいね🙇 あと、キリンの餌やりができるのですが、時間が決まってるらしく、動物に夢中になってたら時すでに遅く、終わってました。。。残念。 昼時ですがあげたい方は気をつけてください😄 あと、真ん中あたりに草っ原のエリアがあり、そこで自前のお弁当を食べました。 ほぼ目の前にはチンパンジーの山？があります。 売店は園の真ん中ほどにあり、席はそれなりの数があると思います。 ただ、混みますし、お弁当持参は個人的に正解だったと思います。 いや〜久しぶりでしたが動物が可愛いし子供も大喜びで、大人も楽しめるので総じて最高でした👍 高速を使っても園の料金が安いから気になりません♪♪♪ また来ます！！！ あと、チケットは事前に購入しておくのが混まなくていいと思います。

Perfect size zoo to bring young kids. New area with lions and tigers is great. Including an area for pictures with little statues. Very interactive and fun. Recommend renting the stroller if your kid is 4 or less as it's a bit hilly

市立動物園なのにこの規模は素晴らしすぎます。入園料も安くリピート必須の動物園です。 大人二人、中学生以下の子ども3人でも入場料は1200円ちょっとです。 動物園には大なり小なり色々行きましたが、ここは満足度が非常に高い動物園です。 コアラとかパンダ、ベンガルトラのような珍しい動物がいるわけではありませんが、およそ子どもの図鑑で見るような動物は網羅してあり、かつ展示施設間の距離も適切なので歩き疲れることもありません。 入り口はいってすぐがゾウの展示で、そのあとすぐは虫類館だったため、最初は小動物専門か、と思っていましたが、奥に行くとカバ、キリン、トラ、サイ、シマウマ、クマ、ライオンと大型動物も相当揃っていました。 たしかに、古き良き動物園の感じは否めませんが、展示方法は工夫してあり、まだ施設も逐次改築している様子なので、今後もっと良くなることに期待できそうです。 園内の食事施設は実質カバ池隣のレストランだけですが、食事の値段は、例えばラーメン580-680円程度と街のラーメンやと同じ程度の値段で、味は下手なラーメン屋よりもよっぽど美味しいので損した気がしません。 自動販売機も観光地特価ということはなく、普通の料金でした。 弁当の持ち込みも多分できるのでは無いでしょうか（確認したわけじゃありませんが、訪問日はスタッフの皆さんがハロウィンプレゼントでお菓子を配ってた程度ですし）。
