Instead of going to the top of the mountain (which is in the middle of an amusement park and has no good views), this is the place to get a good, nearly 360° city view of both Ōsaka and Nara.

One of the best views of both sides of the mountain. You can walk up the mountain which took us just over an hour (taking it slow) or drive up there very easily.

Absolutely beautiful. I went at night. Whilst usually ok in Japan, I will warn you not to rely on Google Maps for this trip. The route took me through the fairground or train station which were both closed, I ended up having to hike down to Nukata station which was interesting to say the least. I got a taxi up, maybe you could ask them to wait, but I stayed for around 30 mins to...
