Kurushima Strait Observatory — Attraction in Imabari

Cute observatory with a small shop/cafe and a little museum in it. Honestly, the other observatories have more to offer.

Here's some info regarding the 3 other observatories in the area. Itoyama Observatory is just near here. After the tunnel, instead of going right to kurushima strait observatory, go left to the parking lot and find stairs leading up to Itoyama observation deck. Itoyama has the best view out of all the observatories but it has no shops and requires a 5-10min climb/hike. The Kurushima Service Area (interchange) is more complete with different food options, rest areas, a foodcourt and souvenir shops. Probably the best spot to see the longest bridge of the island formation. It's not quite a the regular way from Onomichi to Imabari but only a few hundred meters away. Do not miss it! The shop offering is regular, there's some freshly pressed lemon juice which contains more ice cubes than anything else...

Also behind the shop you will find a small museum, free of charge, with an explanation on how the bridge has been built. Very interesting! Try so spend a few...

Good point to watch great the strait. You can see great bridges! Easy access to get there. Enough parking lots. You can take a break in kiosk. In the small facility you can study the history of the bridge, buy a little souvenirs and enjoy refreshments! Especially I love some fresh juices. Just after I ordered they squeezed oranges and served fresh an orange juice!! Super delicious!!! You can use bathroom here!...
