Sakurajima Natural Dinosaur Park — Attraction in Kagoshima

OK so this thing is kind of a pain to climb, but it's worth it. You wanna talk "Out of the way" stuff in Japan? Yeah, this is that. At the top of the hill is a pretty nice view of the port and the mountain, but that's not exactly a rarity on Sakurajima. It does, however, have some lovely play structures. If you've got small kids, go here. Even if you're an adult, there's a pretty awesome slide you can ride down. Couple warnings though: The bathrooms are squat toilets. Also, there's no vending machine up there, so bring water. Especially if you climb in summer. Though in all honesty, if you have small children and try to make them make the climb without a car in summer, I think that MIGHT be a form of child...

Nice big space. But it's like we travelled back in time to 1950s pre colour TV. The playground equipment is quite dated. The animal and dinosaur displays looked quite cartoonish and like they're high on something. The big slide at the end of the park could've been the highlight, except for the unique aspect that its giant conveyor of rollers. The kids were like Amazon parcels slowing rolling down, not in time for same day delivery. Kids did...

The tall slide was different and fun, you wouldn't see much of these outside Japan. However other than that, unless you are really into Dinosaurs and have a special specific liking of Dinosaur themed slides and playground facilities, you will find this somewhat lacking. The path up to the park gives you an opportunity to get a very nice harbour view of kagoshima and the sakurajima coastline, this bumped this up to a 4...
