Have you thought about visiting Kamogawa SeaWorld in Chiba? 🐙
🚗 It's about 2 hours, driving, from Yokosuka, and you can take the car/bus ferry home from Chiba, back to Kurihama, to add something new/fun to your travels. ⛴️
🐟 We visited SeaWorld yesterday and had a fun day seeing many different sea creatures in several different indoor and outdoor areas, plus the beluga, orca, and sea lion shows.
Tips: 📌 If you want to pay for a personal beluga or dolphin experience, plus a guided tour, you should arrive when the park opens and walk straight to the "Discovery Guidance Ticket Counter", in the middle of the park, to reserve a spot. Those opportunities were mostly sold out by 1030am.
📌 If you plan to attend the orca whale show, you should purchase or bring a poncho. They should re-name the show, the "splash show," as almost the entire audience was drenched by the time the show was over! And, no, they will not allow you to pop open your umbrella and duck when the splash is coming!
📌 There are lots of tasty food options, plus shave ice and other treats. Most of the food vendors take credit cards. We highly recommend the delicious air conditioned "Ocean Restaurant", located below the Ocean Stadium. The food was served quickly and was delicious. It was a little more pricey than the other options, but it was really relaxing and cool, and we watched the orcas swimming around while eating.
📌 There's a SeaWorld Hotel attached to the park so you could make the trip into an overnight adventure.
📌 SeaWorld is located right next to the ocean and a large beach where you can walk, collect shells, and enjoy the sea breeze.
📌 The park is stroller friendly. Lots of ramps and baby friendly bathrooms are available. Plus a dedicated young children area, which is cute with a mini train and bounce house for a small fee, but it's all a little dated
📌 We were able to stay cool by ducking in and out of the air-conditioned areas and Ocean Restaurant. Bring hand fans, sun umbrella, and cooling towels to stay comfortable.

Read moreOur visit to Kamogawa Sea World was an unforgettable experience, made even better by how thoughtfully the park is designed for all visitors. Since we had an elderly family member with us who uses a wheelchair, accessibility was an important concern—but we were pleasantly surprised to find the facilities well-equipped and convenient. Smooth ramps, wide pathways, and accessible seating at the shows ensured that everyone could enjoy the attractions comfortably without feeling restricted.
The highlight of the day was, of course, the spectacular shows. From the dynamic dolphin performances to the majestic killer whales and playful sea lions, each show kept us fully entertained. The atmosphere was lively, and the energy of the trainers and animals was contagious, leaving smiles on everyone’s faces.
Adding to the joy was the variety of food available inside the park. We enjoyed delicious yaki soba, refreshing shaved ice to beat the heat, and fun snacks like the American corn hot dog and the unique gyoza dog. The food options were not only tasty but also catered well to families looking for quick bites between shows.
Overall, Kamogawa Sea World offered a perfect blend of accessibility, entertainment, and great food, making it a memorable outing...
Read moreKamogawa Seaworld is a blast! It's an amazing place to go with family and friends. As soon as you enter, you're greeted by the beautiful waves of the beach and the fishes in the Eco Aquarium. The park offers a variety of delicious food at reasonable prices. Personally, I recommend trying the takoyaki and yakisoba, but the fries and chicken nuggets were pretty average.
What really stood out to me were the shows! There were four shows in total, featuring beluga, dolphins, orca killer whales, and sea lions. The orca killer whale show was outstanding and truly exceeded my expectations. It was surreal to see how close the trainers were with their respective orcas, and it was definitely a fun experience. My advice would be to watch the shows first before exploring the aquariums, as the shows are the main highlight of the park. However, I have to say that some of the aquariums were small and a bit dirty, with the fishes having to squeeze into cramped spaces. Hopefully, the park will improve on this soon. All in all, Kamogawa Seaworld is a fun and exciting experience that I highly recommend!
extra: if you are looking for a place to eat around here, I recommend trying Cama Kitchen and Beach Cafe. I reviewed them, check it it out...
