Wake Park Wisteria — Attraction in Kirishima

This is an awesome place to see the wisteria in full bloom! There was quite a bit of traffic on the rural roads when we went, but there were parking lot attendants who helped direct traffic. The park is not very big, but it is well maintained and has restroom facilities and a shrine. There is also a small gazebo at the top of a trail leading up the mountain. There is a little bit of a view, but the nature is definitely the star of the park. We saw a lot of butterflies and native flowers...

Note that Google navi takes you to the car park for Inukai falls. If there’s a huge queue to the main carpark you could park here and walk up the stairs but it looks steep

Not as many wisteria as Kawachi Wisteria Park but still lovely. They were past full bloom...

2025年4月27日、和気公園を訪れ、藤棚の圧巻の美しさに心を奪われた。晴れ渡る空の下、降り注ぐ日光が藤の花を透かし、清涼感あふれる光が辺りを満たす。淡い紫の花房は光のカーテンのように揺れ、そよ風が運ぶ甘い香りと春らしい心地よい気温が五感を優しく包み込んだ。藤棚の下を歩くと、薄絹のような花びらが陽光に輝き、心が洗われるような穏やかな時間が流れた。 特に印象的だったのは、藤の花の蜜を吸うクマバチの姿だ。ふわふわと飛び回り、懸命に蜜を集めるその様子はなんとも愛らしく、春の活気を感じさせてくれた。クマバチの小さな働きが、藤棚の美しさに生き生きとした命を吹き込んでいるようだった。 ただ、公園にたどり着くまでは苦労の連続だった。観光客で賑わう道は大渋滞で、1時間以上車に閉じ込められた。狭い道では対向車との離合に神経を使い、運転に気を張った。それでも、和気公園の開放的な空間で輝く藤棚とクマバチの愛らしい姿を見た瞬間、渋滞のストレスは一気に吹き飛んだ。この藤の美しさは、苦労を補って余りあるものだった。 来年も、清涼な光と香り、そしてクマバチの可愛...
