Motoara River Cherry Blossom Avenue — Attraction in Konosu

I visited this beautiful place with my family on April 8, 2025, to enjoy the stunning cherry blossoms. This location is truly a hidden gem for Sakura lovers in Saitama, Japan.

We spent over an hour walking along the long line of cherry blossom trees by the riverside. The peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful view made it a wonderful experience.

It’s located about 650 meters from the nearest station, making it easily walkable.

As it’s a riverside area, there are no public restrooms available, so it’s good to plan ahead.

Motoara River Cherry Blossom Pathway. The cherry trees here are old, around hundred years old, so some of them were cut because there were holes in their trunks, wood bugs are eating them, too. So, if I can enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms here, it’s because local people here with Konosu Rotary club are taking care of these trees. They spray and clean the trunks. Minha visita foi durante o auge da floração_ um verdadeiro espetáculo! É maravilhoso ver as pessoas em piqueniques tradicionais sob as cerejeiras. Embora não seja minha primeira vez (já vivenciei o local em vários momentos), e cada visita rende fotos incríveis e uma alegria renovada. Durante o dia a animação é garantida com animados shows musicais e barracas oferecendo comidas típicas e diversificadas. Ao anoitecer o clima muda completamente! As lanternas japonesas acendem, iluminando suavemente o passeio, projetando reflexos no espelho d'água do rio calmo circundante, e decorando as cerejeiras, numa atmosfera cenográfica e intimista. Estacionamento: Espere concorrência na época da floração, mas vagas existem (paciência para procurar é a chave!). Banheiros: Só vi um único banheiro público no trajeto (não testei).
