Okuma Beach is the perfect family/friend/solo getaway. Whether you're into camping or staying in a room on the beach facing crystal clear blue water, Okuma can provide that. Not into either of those? They also have cabins of various sizes to meet your needs or the needs of a large group. The hotel rooms and cabins each have their own grills right outside the door for you to use. My family opted for the hotel room on our latest trip. It met our needs as all we needed it for was to store our stuff and go to sleep. Okuma offers many activities to include a private golf course, mini-golf, go-kart racing, glass bottom boat rides, jet ski rentals, and more. Due to the size of the resort, everything is within walking distance to include both beaches, a restaurant, all activities, and a shop that carries a variety of items such as souvenirs, sunscreen, grilling items like charcoal and skewers. They also carry sunblock, food, and booze. The prices at Okuma are very fair and, in my opinion, worth every penny/yenny. If you're looking for a great beach getaway, make sure Okuma is on that list. Read moreThis was our first weekend checking out Okuma. While it’s not beach season, we wanted to stay somewhere to check out the northernmost areas of the island. While the resort is clean, cabins are clean and comfortable, I don’t know that my husband and I need to come back. When we vacation we try to get away from military life, and this place just gives you on base vibes from every angle. The food at the restaurant is solid, nothing great, but pizza was surprisingly good. Convenience store is fully stocked with everything you might need, which is nice. I can definitely see the appeal of coming here in the summer, but I also can’t imagine coming up here when it’s crowded. You can stay at the private Okuma resort up the street for the same rates as the military resort. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay while you check out Hedo, Yambaru, or Hiji, this place will do. Also, camping here would be good because of all the amenities available. Sunsets here...
Read moreThis place is amazing! Spent our last day in Okinawa here and it was absolute perfection. Finding parking is a little challenging, but the beach was incredible. There is a visitors fee to use the beach showers/towel rental (about $15 pp) and a $50 fee to use two beach chairs and an umbrella for the day. There's a little cafe that you can get coffee, pastries and a few snacks at. There is a large menu of water activities to check out (added cost of course) ie: paddle boarding, banana boat ride, snorkeling, diving 101 etc, but we had a great time just laying around on the beach and swimming in the ocean. You can also rent floaties and lounge mats. Tip: bring goggles to check out the...
