Surfside — Restaurant in Kunigami

Open to base personnel only, this is a convenient stop for lunch, when visiting the northern areas of the island. ATM machine is available at the entrance. Fantastic American foods and Pizza are served at reasonable prices. Local staff are friendly and attentive to customer's needs. Social distancing and mask-wearing are mandatory due to Coronavirus. Alcohol for hand sanitizing is provided at the entrance. Staff are helpful and courteous. My most recent meal, Chicken Huli Huli was mouthwateringly delicious. I will visit this establishment whenever touring the northern reaches of the island. A new menu has recently been provided and I will attach it here. The food here used to be better... Ordered a pizza and it tasted like they just put a simple spaghetti sauce on the pizza instead of Pizza sauce (their pizza used to be great). I asked to speak with the manager, who was very friendly and receptive to my feedback, and whom said the same was just crushed tomatoes and oregano. No sugar so other seasoning just tomatoes and oregano. For having a brick fired oven I'd think they'd have a higher quality sauce. They are 18th services why not have the same sauce as the Banyan tree? She was gracious though and too the pizza back. Yet another mediocre food offering from base. I'd rather eat out the gate at Lawson. The Orion draft beer was ice cold (menu still refers to Orion as import erroneously like this is 1954) and the pizza was okay. Most of what others were eating looked completely underwhelming. You can't eat outside unless you do takeaway which is just rediculous. This place is stuck in the past. Surely the military supply system can provide some more exciting options that $8.95 taco rice.
