Yamato Port Breakwater — Attraction in Kure

Pretty nice way how to show up feeling from be on a battleship even she's already more than 70 years sank.

So you've got main and secondary batteries on a ground in 1:1 scale and also rangefinder exact distance from a bow of the ship so you can imagine how was IJN Yamato was big.

It's actually pretty cool to watch from like middle of a ship towards the bow and use imagination how it was...

A fairly standard outdoor-by-the-port place to stand and watch the boats come and go.

However...

Look down and it's links to the battleship Yamato will become obvious. Cryptically I shall say no more so as not to spoil...

大和ミュージアム前の海岸にある、広場です。 大和波止場は、実物大の戦艦「大和」左舷側の艦首から艦橋までの大きさが再現されています。

潜水艦「あきしお前の道から広場に入ると、戦艦「大和」の46センチ主砲弾の形をしたポールの様な物が2本立っています。 その間を通り抜けて進むと、左側に黄色とオレンジの色の深海調査艇、「しんかい」が展示されています。

真っ直ぐ海側に進むと、変わった形の灰色の東屋の様な屋根があります。 よく見ると大和の艦橋の様な形をしていて、電探の金網が付いています。 艦橋の下の芝生広場には、恋人の聖地の鐘も設置されています。

この先の海方向へ進むと、ウッドデッキになっています。 地面には、大和の46センチ3連装砲塔の絵が実物大で2つ描いてあります。

更に先に進むとウッドデッキは終わり、コンクリートの地面が緩やかに 登って行きます。 海岸の手前で少し高くなっていて、壁が現れます。 回り込んで下の海岸側に降りて下から見ると、大和の艦首の形になっているのが解ります。
