Tottori Shrine — Attraction in Kushiro

Tottori Shrine is a charming and sacred spot located at a busy intersection along National Route 38, right in the heart of Kushiro City. Its central location makes it easy for locals and nearby businesses to gather, and it’s a peaceful contrast to the surrounding urban bustle. If you enter through the first torii gate (Ichino Torii) from Route 38, you'll find a straight approach leading toward the shrine, and you can spot the second torii gate (Nino Torii) in the distance. The pathway is paved and continues in an L-shape, making it easy and pleasant to walk.

Just past the second torii gate, there is a chozuya (purification fountain) to the left, though it was unfortunately covered and not in use during my visit. As you turn the corner of the L-shaped path, you'll come across the Sanno Torii, and beyond it, the main shrine building comes into view. It’s quite rare and sacred to see a three-torii layout like this in the middle of an urban area — a sign of the shrine’s cultural and spiritual importance.

The main shrine building stands out with its solid design and distinctive colors — a refreshing blend of creamy yellow walls and a green roof that harmonizes beautifully with the nearby chozuya. Inside, the polished floor is especially striking, creating a glossy reflection that adds a sense of calm and reverence. Because the shrine is situated near a large market, it often receives many offerings, showing the deep connection it maintains with the local community. 2025.05.01 ・国道38号線沿いの交通量が多い交差点に鎮座する神社です。ある程度の敷地を確保した地域の人や企業が集まってきやすい場所にあります。 ・38号線沿いの一之鳥居を抜けると真っ直ぐな参道があり、二之鳥居も見えます。L字型に参道が続いており、舗装されていて歩きやすいです。 ・二之鳥居をくぐると左手に手水舎があります。残念ながら鉢の上には蓋がしてあって、本日はお休みでした。 ・L字型に曲がると三之鳥居があり、その先に社殿が見えます。都市型の神社の敷地に三之鳥居まであるとは、神聖です。 ・重厚な屋根が特徴の社殿です。手水舎と調和のとれたクリームっぽい黄色と緑の屋根が清々しくていいです。 ・社殿内部はピカピカの床が印象的です。映り込みが格好イイです。大きな市だけあり、奉献酒の数も多いですね。 ・社務所は鳥取百年館とつながっています。この人口だと、年始は混雑しそうな規模の授与所です。 ・百年館の前に神社の由緒書きがありました。鳥取県からの入植者が築いた神社で、鳥取県の伝統芸能もきちんと伝えているようです。先人の苦労を偲ぶという精神がこの地域には確実に根付いているんですね。 ・社務所にて御朱印をいただきました。書き置き対応とのことで、季節限定の御朱印もありましたが、巳年にちなんだ御朱印にしました。蛇が描かれていて左下の控えめな御朱印も何とも言えません。初穂料は500円とのことで奉納させていただきました。 ・参拝に来られる方もポツポツといて、地域からも慕われている神社だと感じました。神社の方と親しげに話されている光景を見ると、由緒書きにも書かれていましたが、鳥取県からの開拓団のつながりが、今も心のどこかに残っているのではと感じました。神社と通しての人との...

簡単に言えば明治に鳥取県(鳥取藩の藩主は徳川家からの養子、柳生一族で有名な荒木又右衛門の妻の弟で渡辺数馬の実際にあった敵討ちで有名で、渡辺数馬の一族が釧路に移住している)から士族がここに移住して造られたから鳥取神社、系列で言えば一番上は出雲大社になり、社格も高い。移住した時の物等展示していて、見学も無料でさせてもらえます。昔の武士時代の物で、この箱を開けるな、開けたら祟る(失明する)と言う物も、展示していて、博物館などに行くより、歴史が好きなら、こんな楽しい所はない。当然神社なので、御朱印(有料)も貰えますし、お祓い事(人や車や建物土地)も有料にてやって貰えます。ただこちらの方は霊感等は一切無いとの事です。今は息子さんも、働いてますが残念ながら良い評判は聞きません。お祓いで有名なのは、神社では駅裏の稲荷神社の宮司と、とある寺で、真言...
