Yase Station is located in the north-east of the city and it is a gate way to reach up to the top of Mt. Hiei where Enryakuji Temple is established. Lightup ( illumination ) is provided all around the station of Yase from late autumn in November until the end of the year. The area of the lightup is extended through the path in the forest next to the ropeway & cable car station where a magnificent view of Japanese maple view spreads out along the upstream of Takano River which flows down toward the city.
