Mitsu Ferry — Attraction in Matsuyama

I was recommended to this free of charge boat ride by the host of my AirBnB. It was a very scenic and I feel it was faster than walking to the other station at the starting side of the river.

Apparently there is an film called がんばっていきまっしょい (Give it all) that is bringing a lot of tourist to Matsuyama as the film takes place here. In the past, this boat used to be rowed by hand and a stick. I wonder how they did that, the water seemed deep.

I learnt the above information from the crew on the boat. I was on my way to Matsuyama castle he kindly guide me how to get there.

初めて利用させていただきました なんと無料です 船ですが国道のあつかいなのだそうです

2人の方で運行されており乗船は一人でも待たされることなく船を出していただきました 船の舳先から乗船して方向を変え対岸を目指します ほんの2分ほどですが川風を感じて気持ちいいです

対岸に着くと渡し板をセットしてもらい上陸します 帰りはどうしたらいいか聞くと 「こっちに船がいなければ手を振ってくれるかここのボタン押してね」 と言われました なんと迎えに来てくれるそうです

対岸にある神社や城址を見て帰りました その時は地元の人たちがいてちょうど船が来たところでした 降りる時に聞くと雨など少ない日で20往復 多い日はその倍ほど運行されているそうです ありがたいことです

運行も朝7時から夜7時までの12時間です ...
