Ikeda Art Museum — Attraction in Minamiuonuma

スポーツジャーナリストの池田恒雄氏が、野球の交流で得た文化・スポーツに関連するコレクションが展示されている美術館。ジャーナリストとして活躍した傍ら、野球だけでなく様々な選手とも交流を持ち、数々の名選手が着用したグッズだけでなく、活躍場面を収めた写真などが数多く展示されている。 他にも小泉八雲が遺した資料や、會津八一やラグーザ玉（清原玉）の絵画が展示されているが、スポーツに特化したり、新潟特に魚沼由来の美術品と言ったわけではなく、企画展を含めその展示内容にはあまり一貫性が無いことが多い。展示規模もそれ程大きくはないため、1時間程度で全ての展示を回ることが出来る。 建物自体はとても美しく、八色の森公園の木々や池等の自然と見事に調和が取れている外観となっている。大人500円なので、散策ついでの休憩がてらに立ち寄るといいかもしれない。

This is an art museum where sports journalist Tsuneo Ikeda displays his collection related to culture and sports, which he acquired through his interactions with baseball. While he was active as a journalist, he also interacted with various athletes, not only baseball players, and the museum displays not only goods worn by many famous players, but also many photos of them in action. Other exhibits include materials left behind by Koizumi Yakumo and paintings by Aizu Yaichi and Ragusa Tama (Kiyohara Tama), but they are not specific to sports or art originating from Niigata, especially Uonuma, and the contents of the exhibits, including special exhibitions, are often not very consistent. The scale of the exhibition is not so large that you can visit all the exhibits in about an hour. The building itself is very beautiful, and its appearance is in perfect harmony with the trees, pond, and other natural features of the Yashiki Forest Park. The price is 500 yen for adults, so it is a good place to stop by for a break while...

八色の森公園の一角にある美術館です。スポーツ文化展示室に野球やオリンピック、相撲などに関係した展示があります。この日は八海山に関わる地元の方々の絵画や写真、八海山石などの展示がありました。 意外だったのは、小泉八雲文学資料室があったことです。個人的に好きな作家だったので、興味深く見させていただきました。 最後にロビーのイケビカフェで「ラフカディオ珈琲」をいただきました。八海山を望みながらいただくコーヒーは最高の味ですね。ごちそうさまでした。 補足ですが、風の又三郎像と外の...

ロビーの全面ガラス越しに映る池が、静寂な空気の中で美しく輝いていました。

スポーツ文化展示室には、長嶋茂雄さん、王貞治さん、大谷翔平さんを始めとする偉大な選手たちの貴重な展示品が並び、野球ファンにとってはまさに宝の山でした。

ベイブルースのサインボールもあり、本当に満足のひとときでした！
