This is a street on the old road between Gunma and Niigata that has been restored to give an impression of how it looked in the past. It was just a rundown postwar shopping street, so it is definitely improved … also many of the old shops moved into the new buildings. That's why although there are some tourist-oriented shops like cafe, ramen, sake brewery shop, and souvenirs, it's not really super touristy.
