📍🇯🇵 Kyoto / Miyazu City 🍇🍷 Winery

◯ Amanohashidate Winery

☝️ A rare winery near the sea 🏖🍷 Contrary to the image of salty salt, the grapes are very ripe and rich in taste wine is made. Originally it seems that grapes were grown in the mountains, but the animal damage was severe, and when I made it in the sea, it grew unexpectedly, so it seems that it is made near the sea. It is said that oyster shells are sprinkled on the premises to nourish them. A lot of oyster shells were also seen in the back of the shop. It seems that it is now operated in collaboration with about 10 grape farmers.

📍 Car required and located along the main street. It is easy to understand because there is a big grape sign. The place is open and easy to see.

👫 It seems that there are many people returning from fishing or golf besides tourists.

🏠 Souvenir & drinking zone on the 1st floor. There is a storage on the 2nd floor. You can visit the 2nd floor. I couldn't drink because I was in Corona. Next to the winery is a bakery that uses local grapes, and the bread here is also famous.

🍽 As of 2021/3/6, I couldn't drink because of corona measures.

🍦 Wine soft (Niagara) → No alcohol. Both drivers and children can eat it. The vanilla ice cream has a little aroma and flavor, so it has an elegant taste. It is cheap at 200 yen.

🍇 Grape juice before brewing → Aged for one week. It's winter, so it seems that aging hasn't progressed until then. Surprisingly, there is no astringency and the sweetness is refreshing. It tastes like grape soda 🥤. It seems that yeast can produce carbonic acid by decomposing sugar. The carbonic acid bubbles were bigger than I had imagined.

💴 Credit card support

🧺 In addition to wine, there are ingredients and seasonings made from wine ingredients. There were plenty of wine design goods, and it seemed like anyone could choose it as a souvenir.

🫖 Maruti Black tea made from grape seeds and leather from Amanohashidate during the process of making wine. The color is beautiful purple without oxidation, so it looks great on Instagram. The bottle looks like a thin plastic glass bottle, making it a perfect souvenir. The price is reasonable at less than 700 yen, and you can drink 5 cups with this alone. I liked the light taste, so I can drink more with it. It seems that sugar, cinnamon, sliced orange, etc. go well. Even the ice cream was...

TLDR; Wine is youthful but well made with nice freshness and acidity balance. Essential stop on the road between amano and ine.

Its incomprehensible to me why this place is not full of five star reviews.

There is literally nothing not to like:

Gorgeous location overlooking the vineyards and bay.

Free to use patio with tables and chairs.

No admission fee or anything like that

A good selection of their wines, including some vineyard exclusives, for 100-200 yen a sample.

Extremely inexpensive, delicious white wine soft serve.

Chance to try some Japanese grape varieties you won’t find elsewhere.

Attached restaurant with amazing panoramic...

Anyone who loves their wine, should pay this place a visit! They do have a vineyard and makes their wine at location!

Was fortunate to be here in Autumn to purchase their new wine which was released in 2023 - Akane Blush. It falls between dry and sweet which makes it easy to drink!

Also had vanilla soft serve. Yup, there's only one flavour here folks! Gotta eat it despite the 12 degrees...

What better way to enjoy your wine than drinking it while enjoying the view of the absolutely gorgeous nature around you Since driving is impossible afterwards, I recommend biking to the other end of the Amanohashidate station and then taking a ferry back
