Very beautiful and serene. There is a heavy sulfur smell in the air due to the vents so if you have a weak stomach it may bother you. 700 yen for adults and 300 for kids. Spent about 1 1/2 hours here. They have pamphlets in English as well so you can read the history of the site. Very secluded and out of the way but worth the trip.

恐山で一番印象に残った場所。まさに極楽浄土と呼べるほどの絶景！ 途中から光のあたり具合か、硫黄の噴出具合か、湖が虹色のように輝いて見える貴重な経験。また見たいと思えるくらいとても綺麗でした！
