むつざわ温泉 つどいの湯 — Attraction in Mutsuzawa

This hot spring and road side market, flowers shop and coffee restaurant serve both local and tourists in Chonan, Chiba. Have been living in Chiba, sotobo last 10 years and an onsen lovers , i have been looking for real one ( pure hot spring water) and reasonable range ( 30mins drive) then found out this hot spring is quite surprising. It was open 2019 so had been around 5-6 yrs old. Openness, quite well designed as home town , not too commercial and not too small as normally Chiba areas onsens . With 2 large indoor, 1 large out door with 3 individual tubs,100% pure hot spring water, one stream or sauna room depending with side for men or women, 20 washing areas then it is good for whoever comes. I deeply appreciate and feel happy to have one to call my own place in this whole side of Chiba Sotobo. I wished i found this out sooner than now. Chonan ,Chiba has been good town, many good restaurants, large rice fields , and look like many peoples whose are retired from big cities located here and enjoying this town. Over 10 yrs living here I personally never see any big troubles earthquakes, land slides or tornados . It is peaceful and easy living town and now it has it owned hot springs service for everyone. This hot spring is very clean and well-maintained. The entrance fee is 800 yen for non-residents, but I still think it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.

The indoor bath is about 40°C, while the outdoor bath is around 36°C, making it comfortable to soak in for a long time without overheating. In the hot summer, it feels especially refreshing—you dip in, step out, and the air feels cool against your skin.

The hot spring water itself is similar to seawater. If you only towel off, your skin can feel quite sticky after it dries. As the signs in the bathhouse also mention, it’s best to rinse thoroughly before leaving. Personally, I felt it was even better to wash with soap once after soaking.

One thing to note is that after the building’s shops close, there are no vending machines available inside the premises, so you’ll need to cross the street to a supermarket or convenience store to buy drinks.

仕事で通りがかり泣く泣く2回我慢して、かなり期待値が上がっている中やっと寄ることか出来た上での評価です。

入口下駄箱に靴を預けて券売機でチケット（800円2024/02、町内外で金額差あり）購入しカウンターに渡して入場。 この日は奥の入口が男性です。敷地全体はそう大きくはありません。 洗い場は仕切られていて使いやすくアメニティも良い。 内風呂は源泉かけ流しで茶色くかかなり塩っぱいです。外にも源泉とつぼ湯があります。 週替りで男女が入れ替るようで今週はスチームサウナ。 ★ホームページでサウナスケジュールが確認できます。

スチームサウナの中は薄暗くLEDでほんのりライティングされていて音楽はなく瞑想するにはいい環境なのですが、ベンチが角のあるタイル張りなのでお尻が痛くなり長居がしにくいのでマイマットを持ち込むと良いです。時計と温度湿度計は天井付近にありますがスチームであまり見えません。 とても残念なのはスチームサウナ側には水風呂が無いという事。スチームサウナでも体温は上昇してますからクールダウンに水風呂は必須だと思います。 外には卵型の設置椅子と椅子が3つあります。

★ドライサウナ最高でした。 入口にウレタンクッションが置かれています。コロナ対応も緩和され最大3段5名で座れそうです。室温は上段で90℃前後、１時間に2度オートローリュがあります。 水風呂は広めで体感17℃、サウナとの温度差が絶妙です。 外気浴には整い椅子が3つ。冬の澄んだ星空や夏の青空を眺めながら外気浴が出来ます。 インフィニティチェアーがあったら間違いなく天国ですね。 帰りたくなくなる。

脱衣所に紙コップの給水機があり脱水対策になります。

スチーム側が○でドライサウナ側が□を基調としているようです。多分ですが…。 施設の奥には畳の休憩スペースがあり軽食やアルコール類もあります。 こじんまりした施設ですがコンパクトでありながらしっかり整った施設だと思います。 ★道の駅侮るなかれです。
