ブラタモリでも紹介された渡海船です。

南の海にある浄土”補陀落”を目指し、小舟で海を渡る捨身行を行った渡海上人が乗った小舟が、ここで復元展示されています。実際沖縄などに流れ着くこともあったみたいですね。

黒潮に流されジョン万次郎みたいに、はるか太平洋沖に流される事が多かったのだろうけど、季節によっては黒潮の逆流（親潮の影響を受けるらしい）が発生し南行もありえるそうで。

実物見ると本当にボートみたいなサイズだし、外から釘を打たれると出られなくなるので、銚子沖や金華山沖など海の難所で亡くなるケースが多かったのではとしばし考え込んでしまいました。

生活に苦しむ民衆の思いを浄土に伝えるためとは言え、すざまじい修業があったものだと思います。復元船、一度見る価値ありだと思います。
