Japan Kansai Family Fun: Top 4 Must-Visit Theme Parks

This place was SO MUCH FUN and NOSTALGIC. If you're a big fan of Studio Ghibli films, this place is a must. However, ☆ I recommend coming AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE. We spend most of our time in the Grand Warehouse standing in long queues for photo opportunities and some we were not able to do, because other things in the park closed at 5pm (we got into the warehouse at 1030ish AM and didn't leave until close to 2pm) ☆ when you get into the warehouse, the FIRST thing you should queue up for is the photo op with No Face (if you don't get in this line early enough, you could be in it for hours later - no exaggeration. We ate lunch & saw the same people in line that had barely moved) ☆ the cinema showing is only in Japanese and does not have English subtitles. We didn't mind this, but we know many people recommend avoiding audio related things if you don't know Japanese... ☆ when you go outside to see the rest, take advantage of the little shuttle that drives around the park. After hours of standing in queues and rushing from one place to another, we really regretted not doing this. ☆ The location itself is an actual PUBLIC park, aside from the areas you reserve entry into (i.e. witches area, Donroko Forest, etc.) and a massive one at that. Expect to see lots of cute dogs, and maybe you'll be lucky enough to participate in seasonal things being held in the public area!

I had a memorable experience while inside the Ghibli Park. My inner child is overjoyed and should be visited by Ghibli fans. For foreigners who plan to visit the park, here are some useful information: -Bring a google translate or any similar apps as it may be difficult to communicate with the staff. It's understandable, as they don't expect foreigner at this time (I think they will start officially accepting foreigners by next year). -Bring enough cash for exclusive merch and foods because they're very pricey -Allocate at least one day because some attractions have long lines -No subtitles for the short film (hoping they add once foreigners are allowed) -Getting a ticket is on a first-come, first-served basis. Buy 2 months ahead of your scheduled trip. They posted the date of the public sale on their website. Minor issue: There is one misunderstanding with the staff when I'm about to leave the park. She yelled at me as I brought the milk outside the Ghibli warehouse, thinking I'd drink while walking. I was just taking a picture of the beautiful bottle behind the rays of the sunset (see the attached photo). I don't have a plan to drink while walking because it's inappropriate for the Japanese culture to eat or drink while walking. Luckily, it was resolved with the other staff.

Morikoro Park, also known as AiChikyu Haku-Kinen Park or Aichi Expo Park, is not your typical park. It is a city playground where people of all ages may have fun. Visit the Aichi Expo Park for an exciting day or a leisurely stroll. The Expo was held in 2005 at two locations in the Aichi prefecture, it was a world fair with the theme "Nature's Wisdom" featured technology and innovations from around the globe in an effort to build a sustainable, eco-friendly future. Actually, Mammoth Excavation and Exhibition was one of the most well-liked displays of the exhibition. There were lengthy (3–6 hour) lineups to enter the venue since the exhibition was very popular among visitors. The former locations of venues in Nagakute is where Aichi Expo Park is located. The names of the Expo's official mascots, Morizo and Kikkoro, inspired the park's alternate moniker, Morikoro Park. I would suggest to visit this park if you really into Hayao Miyazaki creations and if you have plenty of time, it would take almost all day to walk around and even to get there. So if you are only for a short visit to Japan, choose something else to visit.
